The Naysayers are All Wrong - - Lewis Hamilton is 100% Authentic

He was well spoken, but the interview was the typical British media fawning over Lewis and not asking any difficult questions. I really did not learn anything new nor has my opinion changed. He is a very fast racing driver that was better than Nico in 2014 and 2015, with Mercedes historical superiority it is difficult to compare either against the rest of the field. I think he is one of the top drivers now, but do I not rate him any better than Vettel or Alonso, and it will be interesting to see how Max continues to progress this year. I do not put Lewis in the top 10 of all time, I just don't see him in the same league as Clark, Senna, Schumacher, Prost, Fangio, etc. but I believe that he is better than Mansell or Hill (both Graham and Damon).

We don't know your Gran, so I can't judge.

Damon wasn't a bad driver: he was a good tester.
He was fast and developed his car.

But he wasn't a racer in the sense that he didn't enjoy wheel-to-wheel racing and often was intimidated by his opponents.

But Williams was lucky to have him flying the flag for the team after Senna's crash.

 

Objectively Hamilton is one of the best there is.

Fair..he was a decent driver, not even a top 5 in his best days but his car compensated for that....he was an honest guy,fast at times...but had the talent to be at best a good second driver.

I agree, not a great, but not the worst out there! As a schumi fan though, I wanted him to lose every race!

 

It's interesting that for someone who has no interest in Hamilton you must mention him in about half your posts. I think you protest too much - smacks of someone who has the hots for Lewis and is trying to hide it from the rest of us!

Well, he is clearly gay, but I'm afraid I'm not, so no, no hots for me. However, if the thread is about Elton, how could I post without mentioning the sad little man?

I can also offer my brand of insight on many drivers from over the years, and have plenty of opinions on lost of things, some of which you may agree with, some you definitely won't!

However, if you want to imagine I'm somehow having a bromance with that dopey little dipstick! You carry on, maybe it's a fantasy YOU won't admit?

I enjoyed it, not particularly a Lewis fan but certainly admire his driving and accomplishments. Every body grows up eventually, well almost everybody. What stuck with me was his comments about Senna and his goals, now that he has matched him and he is having a, for Lewis, lackluster season made me wonder about motivation.

 

I wasn't talking about this thread in particular but about posts in pretty much any thread in the F1 section.

The first guy to win it through no wins, and punting off his teammate to gain 'crashing points' ? I still haven't seen how these DNFs are going to win him a championship, but you carry on. Course, if he crashes and it's his fault, he isn't far on penalty points from a ban, that surely won't help, or is that included in the loophole too?
