Moderators: can you set up a poll of F'Chatters wherein we all get to vote on this question?
    Thanks!

Alesi was a very good talent, but he made some awful decisions on teams when it mattered, so I don't think we saw the best of him in f1. Berger, not sure he had the dedication to be a great, always came across as having too much fun, in a sport where fun means you can't win enough, but undoubtedly a capable driver in his day.

However, Kimi in his first career was massively fast, and a genuine threat every time he took to the wheel, and proved he could drive at the top level with a championship that he won, he wasn't gifted it like Elton with the Mercedes and 110% commitment from his management

Seb, how anyone can doubt his ability is beyond me, maybe luck into one championship, but four?, come on. The guy is a speedster out and out, but like every driver, he still needs the basic equipment to make a difference. Schumi was a great driver, but he still needed a solid car under him, okay, he could make up several seconds in his ability like Senna, but the basics had to be there.

We won't know if alesi could have been a champion, and Berger was unlucky enough to be in the right car with the wrong teammate, a certain mr Senna.

I'm in agreement with you folks, but in the "Rosberg to Ferrari?" thread a debate has started in which others argued that Alesi-Berger were a better pair of drivers than Seb-Kimi. I completely disagree with that concept, but I thought a poll would answer the question. On Memorial Day Sunday, democracy should rule!

I understand.... Sometimes the debate gets heated for the wrong reasons, and offence can be taken more easily from an unelaborated post than having a proper conversation might
