Some are plugged and the draw can be reduced due to that. Cigars do draw different in general. If you are new I would suggest staying away from darker (maduro)for now. They typically are stronger and can be harder for new people.

My suggestion is try perdomo cigars. They have a great price point for what they are if you are new and not buying 15 dollar sticks to start

I refuse to fight with a cigar if it's a bad draw. My local cigar shop will swap me out any time. I also agree with Tamas that a Maduro cigar may be something to move into later , it's a little strong for the newcomer . Don't give up. Enjoy.

My friend travels to the Middle East for work. He's a defense contactor and God only knows what he does. I don't ask. Lol . He has been kind enough to shlep cigars back for me.

Thank you!! Luckily, I got these in a package deal and didn't pay much which could be part of the issue... I will stick to the lighter color.

Very true not worth your time. Struggling with one can make you real sick real quick. I use a long thin nail to try to open up the cigar.if that doesn't work to the ashtray it goes.

Not an issue at all. The problem is the stronger cigars will really knock you down. Just last week a strong one upset my stomach and made me sick. That's no fun and sure as he'll isn't why I relax and enjoy cigars.

Do you have a cigar place that you visit or order them online?

In the early stages I always suggest a light to medium strength. Connecticut wrappers and don't go for the churchills just yet but that is a suggestion. Ask the store if you have them for suggestions and if you don't have a store I can get a list easy for you.

You will start finding out what you like. That's the whole point as what I smoke isn't what Kirk or lino may smoke. You enjoy it and that is the point.

I'm a ways away but if I'm ever in Tampa again I'll certainly reach out.

    Cheers gents

No Berns Tom , didn't feel like driving 60 miles each way so we roughed it at Hyde Park Steakhouse. I had the 30 day extra dry aged rib-eye and Ken had the 40 day extra dry aged bone in strip seasoned only with Lawreys garlic salt. Good times all the way around with a fellow Fchatter from Conn. Something tells me he will be back to visit Sarasota soon. Ps. We both had deserts too and then the Cohiba's.

    Lino,

I would agree with you on that...except right now I'm the Rockies with my dad. The man that taught me everything enjoying a cigar and beer.

Every first Wednesday of the month, a bunch of cigar aficionados get together for steaks, scotch and CIGARS... We normally go to our favorite steak house that has a cigar lounge, but with the nice weather, we decided we'll host an evening in our backyards... My buddy Garo was the first to host. All I can say is wow... What a great night... Way too much food, but man we had a great time :) .
