I noticed a slight smell of fuel when backing into the garage. Seems to be stronger on the drivers side. I do not smell it while outside, only in the garage...

Been reading about the rollover valve... Does the 430 have the same issue as the 360?

After paying for all the roll over valves to be changed because of a gas smeil, and on a spider, this is a big deal having to have the entire top removed to get to the valves, the car still smelled. Returned to the dealer and it turned out to be the fuel pump. It could be replaced without removing the top again. A year later, the fuel pump on the opposite side did the same thing. It's evidently a small crack in the plastic. When I asked the dealer about the issue of replacing the roll over values for no good reason, he said that they would probably go bad some day anyway.

Mine was the drivers side fuel pump... I found out that my 05 has the early design that required removing/ moving the gas tank to get the pump out... With the pump replaced, no more stinky garage.

Just for my knowledge do you know from which year the tank does not have to be moved?

My 2002 360 Spyder has access to the pumps under the convertible top. Stop the top half way in cycle, shut off the key, and there are access covers on each side to replace the pump.

Anyone replace one of these valves on a 360?

Want to know part and labor cost.

Have been told my car needs it done.

Did one on my drivers side. if you have a coupe its easy.. more challenging on the Spider. On coupe you take off the engine panel on that side, you see it on the gas tank and rotate it off. Put the new one on and rotate it into place. Plug the end onto the evap. assembly. About $250 to $3xx dollars IIRC. Mine is a euro so it was a little more pricey. Euro valves and US valves are different.

I did my 430 r/h side pump that was leaking from the plastic top. (common apparently) With engine bay panel out the leak was easily visible with the engine running.
I didn't see anything else on the top of the tank that looked like a roll over valve.
360's and early 430's have a flange plate the pump mounts into which makes changing them a breeze. My '07 430 has no flange, meaning the pump must come out vertically requiring moving the tank rearwards and inwards. Ferrari quoted 8hrs labour and it took me all of that. The new pump has a yellowish plastic top as opposed to the original white and is hopefully an upgraded part.

    He's got a 430, not a 360 so that's why he's asking. All 360s are a breeze to change the FPs

Ok, so you're saying the newer cars require the fuel tanks to be re-positioned. I thought it was the other way around. Good to know.

My 05 has the early design.. I was told by my mechanic that later F430s have the hole for the fuel tank in the proper spot for easier removal of the pump

No. Later model 430's (not sure what date) require the fuel tank to be moved substantially rearward and inwards to remove the fuel pump. Ferrari actually told me the tank had to come right out through the rear wheel arch.
