    #40052 painting has started, here it is with a few base coats and before lacquer coats.

    This silhouette was the only one done in Rame Colorado so it's great to be taking it back to its original 'as lamborghini intended' colour.

    A step in the right direction! Back in 1990 I returned my P300 from repainted red [Morland pages 96-99] to original bleu metallizzato [Lamsden page 190] and it looked so much better for it. Somehow they never look quite right unless in their original livery...

    Here is #40052 in its new original colour scheme of Rame Colorado. Far better than the red it was painted in in the 90s I think.

    I finished refitting everything yesterday afternoon, it passed its MOT at 5pm and was on display at Auto Italia at Booklands today.

    It's back to how Lamborghini intended, hope you like it...

    Gorgeous, only one hint, I doubt that you need the additive for unleaded fuel.

    What a 70s icon! (The car is nice too).

    I'm so pleased that you did this - the car always deserved to go back to original spec, and you now have the added pleasure of it being 1 of 1.

    Please don't let the shiny paintwork stop you from using the Silhouette as intended. I remember sitting in the car at traffic lights in south London very early on a Sunday morning on the way to Brooklands, and a passer-by stopped to admire the car (even in red it was quite eye-catching). After a moment's contemplation he simply said: "Drive swiftly, man".
