F40 has had a 95 355 GTB for a while. Just noticed they dropped the price to $79,500. I looked at the car personally; 42k miles, lots of service history, good mechanically, rear bumper repainted but no black in the recess, front bumper possibly repainted???, interior is in need. 1995 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta - F40 Motorsports in Portland, CT
That's not too far off from F430 stick prices either. Hell that's nearing 458 wholesale auction pricing.
Low miles and assuming no interior problems and the value is still under $100k for the car. The asking price is even higher than it would be for a Fiorano edition.
They've had that car on consignment for quite some time now. I looked at this car before I bought mine. Price seems about right for a collector piece. Sub 3k cars don't show up everyday. In fact this is the lowest mile example I've seen up for sale in a very long time.
+1 .... I'll be looking for a 355B in the near future .... anyone looking to sell one in the next couple months, please PM a description and price ...
Nothing wrong with wishful thinking Gershwin..... i can't see any well maintained F355 going anywhere but higher ..... especially if its a manual. Already in the UK now the best Berlinetta manuals are going for similar prices to the earliest 458's and for sure the US market will gradually follow this trend. If you do see a good one at a reasonable price , my advice would be..... snap it up!! BR, Jez
Just noticed that F40 has dropped the price on the 1995 F355 GTB they have to $72,500. A month ago it was $79, 500 and a year ago it was $84,900 or $89,500, I can't remember which. Anyway, a $13k to $17k drop from last year's asking price. 1995 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta - F40 Motorsports in Portland, CT 42k miles and need some interior refreshing.
When asking prices see a relatively rapid growth it motivates people to sell which brings more cars out of the woodwork onto the market, which eventually results in a market correction as the cars at the inflated price '+a little bit more' fail to move. The market self corrects somewhere in the middle, not necessarily a dip but more a check on growth. This is what I think is happening anyway.
I think you're right. I keep thinking of selling my '95 spider because prices have risen - but then I look at it and drive it, decide I could never sell her, and banish the thought. Then the next week I think about it again - rinse, repeat. For me, the problem is that mine is a spider and I would like to track her because I love driving her so much. I really, really wish I had bought a GTB instead for this reason.
You can track your Spider. Just find an FCA Track Day.......Spiders are allowed, just not in the faster groups. Makes sense to me.
Yeah no problem, give it a go.....Lot's of fun. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I see the 355 spiders as a market sleeper at the moment. Although kinda fugly with the top up, the top down look is as beautiful as the B . Once the automatic top is converted to manual it is one of the great open car experiences of any car and the market will react to it eventually. Look for market growth in the 355 spider.
You just described the 348 Spider, which is the real sleeper. Those 1995 Spiders were really special cars with all of the updates.
I'm not a Spider/converitble guy, but the 355 is definitely not ugly with the top up in my opinion. The lines are still pretty nice.
Kinda. Having said that, from other angles even with the top up it looks great. From the side, not so much. I think they are great and the extra gear with the extra HP makes it the last and best evolution of the wedge design with the ultra rare combination of a pure analog platform with relevant power and performance even for today. That uniquely positions the car for big future value IMO. I love the 348 also but the real last of the lineage credentials lies with the 355. Hard to find that kind of power to old school tech ratio in any other brand out of the box. If you have one, hang onto your spiders.
Funny to read conversations between coupe guys about how convertibles look top up, when the true convertible guys will counter with "the top is never up so who cares?" I have owned my Diablo roadster a couple of years and have driven it with the top on exactly ONE time, just to take it to the shop in a light sprinkle because I had an appointment. Convertibles light up nerve endings you never previously knew you had....and that is amplified when you have a great engine sound behind your head like a 355 or my V12.
I am a Spider guy and I love the look of the 355 either with the top up or down. I actually like it better than the Berlinetta....but that's just me.....and a few others I know.
