Carl, your comments are solely based on your personal issues with me given I don't bow down and agree with you on many topics, the Fchatters can see that clearly.

The term "sticky" is not a trademark, it's a universal word known regarding the problem with the coating. SNM has a registered TM and so will we when the process runs it's coarse and there for, it's clear we are not in violation.

Unethical? Give me a break. If I was a certain fan boy of yours, you would be jumping up and down that this is so great. Perhaps I should have anodized the inserts gold in color and then you would be endorsing me.

    Free market principles apply.

The Ferrari aftermarket could use more people like Dave. The majority of parts still command a hefty Ferrari tax.

I think it is HILARIOUS the negative comments towards Dave's business practices by Scuderia Rampante fans. There is the classic model of the wrong way to do things on FerrariChat!

:) I think only you could toss that out there...but I agree 100%

At least Dave Rocks is a paying sponsor here. SRI just showed up to sell parts, insult people that disagreed with him and never paid a nickle to the cause.

DaveRocks...if you could look at other parts say maybe 348 radiators and maybe start making them for less...... just saying.....haha....;-)
anyway good on you for selling stuff owners need for less...as long as you're not infringing IP rights, it's all good and everyone benefits, especially us.....
    cheers....

Its time to get this thread back on track.
I applaud Dave for bringing out his products......all of the inserts from all parties are copies.
I know I will be contacting Dave when I need these inserts.
    Quality product and price....bravo.

How about some F1 actuators and TCU's? We could all use a few spares as they're currently made of unobtanium :D

You are not kidding, Rob! I sourced 2 NOS ones on ebay over the last 6 months. I got one for around $500 and the other a couple weeks back for $300.

In regard to other stuff guys, for now it will be mainly 355 stuff as those are the cars I own :D

We have other stuff designed and just have not had the time to make it. I don't want to list the items because then others many go off and do them :)

no way!?! latest prices I was quoted were something like $1,500-2,000 each for new ones. I need 4 of these every year or two when racing.

Yeah, I contacted SKF regarding them last year. I pressed one of mine apart and was going to rebuilt it until I learned it was sold to Ferrari from SKF as the entire hub assembly (integral race design)

SKF confirmed they are no longer making them. I was close talking the guy into giving me the drawing but I guess I was not charming enough :)

Hmmm, so it's OK for Hill to copy and produce Ferrari parts but for others it's not?

Stay tuned - we do have original items in the works.

And, here are a couple from my other company which I hold 2 US Patents for since you question my ability to be original:

Dave, you should think about how to start with an OEM hub and modify it so that the bearing is replaceable.

    Hi John,

I believe it's a space constraint issue. Having an integral race allows the bearing to be larger (balls) within the same envelope. I'll have a look at it though.

Can the replaceable 348 style be retrofitted - would require uprights from a 348 but I'd imagine it would be comparable in cost to just getting one set of new 355 hubs...

Have not thought of that. My first thought if I was to change it from OEM I would most likely go with a full race setup for the track cars. BUTT i ASSume that would get up there cost wise.

"Great suggestion. I see the constant advertisement on every subforum thinly veiled as a public service announcement as an insult to my intelligence."

"Carl, your comments are solely based on your personal issues with me given I don't bow down and agree with you on many topics, the Fchatters can see that clearly."

Actually, I agree with FBB... (not on the SNM vs SRx trademarking gray area, I see no issue there) and I'm not someone with any ax to grind against Dave. (haha, no pun intended) I'm very aware of the clashes between those two.

I still feel like a newbie around here (can you still be after 4 years?) but I was around before Dave's "fall from grace", witnessed what caused it, and recently noted his return. I always respected his knowledge and have even praised and referred to him as the template to emulate when doing detailed write-ups of tech processes, though I feel he can be a bit "militant" and rigid in his viewpoints once he forms them.

I was surprised to see him back and quickly figured out it was because he had gone legit regarding the subject that got him banned in the first place. I was cautiously happy to see a resource of knowledge return, yet wondered what we might be in store for.

But... since then I feel like the threads in this section are being inundated a bit with what is almost SRx spam. At times it seems like Dave's chiming in on topics is less about offering any additional info or input and more about making sure that paid-for avatar logo shows up as much as possible. I had even contemplated sending a msg to Rob asking if perhaps we could quietly, respectfully ask to have Dave tone down the behavior a bit. So I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed.

Again, no disrespect intended to anyone and I'm *very* happy to have resources for parts and info here like Dave and FBB (as well as Daniel/Ricambi, HE and SNM) but I'd like to avoid the 348/355 forum becoming the SRx sales channel.

Jeff, I appreciate your comments. I take no offense to your comment regarding my "rigid" view points because I am very passionate about everything in life. Many, many others on this site are also very "rigid" so I'm not really alone.

But, if you look at my post history prior to being a sponsor, you will see a lot of activity. I don't post "just so my avatar" is seen. I'm sorry that is your impression, but it's not the truth. I'm just an active member and we have many here that make me look part time :)
