Has anyone ordered the Apple Car Play option for their 488 GTB/Spider?

CarPlay in its current iteration is not that useful. Very limited apps.

Voice dictation/read back sounds good in theory. Once it transcribes your message with the wrong spelling a few times you stop using it all together. Even if it was free I wouldn't download it.

I posted the video above. Apple CarPlay came as a no cost option in my F12.

I have had Apple CarPlay in two cars now and, as an iPhone user, wouldn't be without it. For me, it's both excellent and a must have.

Yes, it currently has some limitations and quirks but they'll iron out in the future I'm sure.

It's something you have to use for a week or two before it just becomes part of yours and the cars muscle memory.

However, would I pay loads for it? Probably not. I had it retrofitted to a car at a cost of around £700 and thought that was a bit steep. I'd certainly not pay Ferrari's huge price.

So, if you're ordering a new car, try and get a loaner for a week that has CarPlay and then decide.

I have it in my 488... Really like it , maps works a lot better than the factory nav , Siri voice control works very well , music playlists etc works well too... But u can Bluetooth stream the music from the iPhone anyway so really for me it's using the iPhone maps for navigation that is the most useful . Reading out text messages works ok and dictating replies is good, but again don't use it heavily and that's a bit of a novelty than a tool
So overall I like it, but it's blooming expensive for what u get
