NOPE! But you know what?! I love the car so much, I don't even care....

Hell my 1970 Olds 442 is faster than my Speciale in a quarter-mile, but that doesn't make it a "better" car! :)

A Speciale looks faster, sounds faster and feels faster. It even smells faster :-j That's what matters to me...a stop watch is important, but it is secondary to me. When I'm driving my Speciale and the hair on the back of my neck is standing up the last thing I'm thinking about is a stop watch :)

    Yes, he said the SCUD.

He said also “It (the Speciale) might be the most valuable of the three currently, but as time goes on I think the others (CS and SCUD) will bridge the gap in terms of value, as is logical because they’re both rawer and rarer.”

Another nice passage in the article "...Cottingham thinks that, unlike the Speciale, it’s easier to find the raw edge of the Scuderia on the road, delivering an almost F40-like thrill."

I used to have a 1970 442. 4 speed Hurst shifter, posi-rear, Hooker headers, Holley carb, Edelbrock manifold, recurved distributer, etc. It certainly felt ungodly fast. However, it's numbers are no where near what a modern car can do. They were 6 second cars to 60 on a good day. 14 in the quarter mile give or take. The 458/Speciale are way faster than that. Would still give my right testicle to have the car back. But, faster, no.

Next, CAR magazine this month has a good "used car" article. They highlight the 458. They pay particular attention to the Speciale's value.

Your just a Special classy guy. It only takes one brain cell to create negativity.

Exactly Eilig. It's not just one thing but rather the whole package. Who really cares. You can buy a New 60K Mustang GT 350 and throw 60K in mods in suspension/engine and tromp the crap out of anything on track or 1/4 mile. You would still have 300K left so what's the point MeatMan? Nothin like sucking the air out of the room or is that your message?

Don't even know why I bother reading here anymore. Childish Nonsense.

i think i'm going to cry...but sounds like someone is more butthurt...and i wonder what is more childish, going into denial over what was mentioned in the article and then also pretending that something is capable of something it really is not or me poking fun right back at that sorta stuff?

    wonk, wonk.

I'd agree, Scud more raw. Speciale of course quicker and faster. And 488 "Speciale" will be quicker yet and less raw than all. I think collectibility will always go to the most raw.

As I keep saying, during the next recession you can buy any of these far less than today's prices, which is great for us car guys! I have no interest in a CS, but perhaps a Scud. I've done the Speciale and have scratched that itch.

CS, Scud, Speciale, 488; I'm just grateful to have driven at least two of them. And I'm even more grateful that I own one of them.
To be able to bicker about which one is rawest, fastest, greatest etc. Is a testament to our modern mentality. To most of the worlds population, these cars aren't even conceivable to dream about.
I don't care which one is faster, or louder, or rawer, or prettier.
No matter what Ferrari, super car, or muscle car, we own; we're all quite blessed!
