I bought a engineblock like this some time ago for exact this same purpose but never came to it. Seeing this provides the nessecary incentive to finish!!

So for us non-metric guys is that about 20 x 25"? What would it cost to ship to the states?

Shipping to the states would be about £300. Would need a postal address to get an accurate price if your seriously interested

The front of that block has two bearings for two cam drive pullies so the engine had two cam belts. Didn't the Mondial and 348 only have one belt? It has many characteristics of a 355 block but it is not. Is it maybe 360?

Isn't it from a 3.0 or 3.2, as used in the 308s, 328s, and Mondials?

    Cool table, BTW. :)

The Mondial 8, 3.0 & 3.2 and 348's both have twin OH cams and two cam belts. The Mondial "T" engine is also basically the same as a 348 engine.

That is an awesome table. What a great addition to a man cave.. GLWS. I'm sure it won't last long at that price.

Yeah, I'm not sure what I was thinking. I know the 348 is one timing belt and was thinking all Mondials had the same 3.4l engine for a minute. Then I started comparing it to a 355 block I have....

Not to deflect from this cool piece and the original thread, but the 348 and Mondial T have 1 belt.

I did not know that, but the pic below from a belt change thread shows how one belt was routed to both banks of cams. Thanks for the education!

I've been casually looking for a spare 308 engine for a few years-maybe something involved with an engine fire that could be salvaged that I could mod and not worry about returning it to orig. With the uptick in these cars, they've gotten pretty $$ if you can find them. I doubt anybody's going to be doing this to one of these engines anytime soon. With that in mind this is probably a pretty good deal, maybe even a steal. How cool would this look in a sports room?!

Any idea on what the history of the engine was before they chromed it?
