Lots of the old timers remember when we used to race indoor karts on Tuesday nights.

My youngest son just got a job at the new K1 Speed in Richardson and he asked me if we wanted to restart the races? Not sure about ongoing racing, but thought we might scare up the crew and go invade the place. It just opened so the karts aren't beat up yet. :)

Anybody interested? Am thinking some time in the next few weeks.

A couple of weeks ago, I drove by the empty lot on I35 that use to have the warehouse where we would park inside and race on Tuesday nights (WAY back in the day). Thought that a K1 revival might be in order.

I have been twice already. The karts are faster than the ones in Arlington and the track is longer. It would be fun to get a regular race series set up.

Bastages. SATX can't even have a spotters thread, alone a K1 league.
My kids and I get funny looks when we bring our own balaclavas.
Stories from the old league were pretty funny.

Jim didn't brake at all! I was braking late and he was just being an ass to me and Greg, I think we both still have back problems. :D

    They have brakes??
Guy pulled that on me here. I let him by, reciprocated x1, then drove over him. Only cost me a few tenths. Corner worker kids just stood there. I was laughing so hard I almost stuffed it. K1 cars fly pretty good, even with fat guy on board. :)

Have you? Karting and bumper cars is why Wife #1 decided everyone in the Fcar club was an jerk and refused to have anything to do with y'all :)

I may keep Wife #2 away from karting :D :D Right now she likes y'all.

Brakes? Who needs brakes? Damn sophisticated hoity toity racer guys think they know all the tricks. Hard to believe you're still whining about it 12 years later! :D And you weren't late braking, you were EARLY braking which is why you got hit! :p

My son has been there less than a week, has only driven twice. He already has the 2nd fastest time, only behind a tiny female manager that's worked in various stores for years. Oh yeah, and he outweighs her by 100lbs.

I'm looking at Tuesday, June 28. Call it 7pm. Plenty of places around for a few cold ones afterwards.

Remember at our old karting place it seemed the heavy drivers got more traction and faster times.
