Inspired by MalcolmB and his Daytona drive thread here is my Daytona before and after detailing. I had come back from a long weekend road trip to the Champagne region in France and it rained most of the weekend. A friend of mine thought the Daytona looked so cool dirty that I should just have several clear coats sprayed over the mud and leave it Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Its very hard to tell, so an easy mistake. The Autokraft cars are very good, some even have the correct style wheels with bolt on spinners as this one does. The easiest way to tell an Autokraft kit is to look at the quarter light windows, for some reason he had them made with 2 chrome strip's on the back edge and they do no open. I have to admit that there were some elements in the pic of the rear end of the car that were throwing me off. The overall dimensions, the dash and the steering wheel. But I didn't give it any more thought than that.
Correct. It is 16499. Non original color. RL bought it 6 November 1984. But he actually has two of these. The black one usually spends a lot of time at his ranch in CO. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
RL had 16499 at the 21st annual FCA meet at Watkins Glen NY back in 1985. He also had a red SWB Cal spyder present there to. 16499 was for sale March 12 1983 for 125k with 12k miles. Later for sale in NC April 21 1984 for 130k with 15k miles. In 1982 the listed owner was "Propps". What do you show for the original paint color / interior color please, on this one Marcel? I show Rosso Chiaro 20-R-190/Nero 8500. Delivered through MCM to a “McGeary”. 16499 wearing black on tan was a popular combination due in part to a 1984 - 1989 TV show in that time...
Propps = Rodney Lee Propps of Myrtle Beach, SC. McGeary = Steve McGeary of Miami, FL. I agree with the original colors. I disagree with the FCA Annual Meet 1985 at Watkins Glen (July 12-14): This was the 22nd Annual Meet, not the 21st (the 21st FCA Annual Meet was held 21-24 June 1984 at Stouffer's Pine Isle Resort at Lake Lanier Island and Road Atlanta/GA). Marcel thank you for correcting the event number as the 22nd FCA meet at Watkins Glen and expanding on the various names here to.
