How many used FF have you purchased?
How many used Ferrari of your 15 cars in total?
How many dealers have you asked about FF options as a used car buyer?

Besides bragging about the 15 cars/depreciation hits you may have taken in order to spec the perfect car, another option with the FF is to patiently find a car in the exact spec we want, and buy it used. For example my 2014 that was 14 months and 700 miles used for 31% off MSRP.

So I'm speaking to used shoppers here. If they lay out a spreadsheet of features, miles, prices and time on the market of 2012-2015 cars, and we just look st 2012s they will see the lowest price tier of cars lacking some crucial items like LED steering wheel or having some undesirable build things like the standard wheel, or not having the full electric seats.

Homelink is not a huge deal, but it's better to have it. It's the opposite of an ego build item, it was not ordered by many people with an early 2012 because they assumed it was included, and then they were admittedly upset later it was a 1200 add on. Dealers took a minute to catch up on that one and make sure they were ordered. Something for buyers to beware if it matters to them today.

IMO garage door openers are tacky and often rattle/noisy, and always not preferred. If you have one because you didn't order Homelink that's all good, not going to give you a hard time about the dealer letting you down. But if you ask a dealer they will tell you (if honest) that it's better for resale, along with shields and LED wheel and electric seat. They will tell you the split 5 spoke is the best weel for the car.

Since you have the LED and not the other three, I can understand wanting to seem the expert here, but again ... how many used FF have you shopped for and how familiar are you with the used FF market in the last 18 months?

You avoided all the important questions ... for example. how many used FF have you purchased?

What's your used FF buying credential? As a new car buyer over 3 years ago it seems you know little about the used FF market and you don't care because you have a car you like, great! Enjoy! Yet there are trends that dealers know about the used market. "Every build is equal" thinking is just ridiculous. Certain cars move faster than others, some need to be lower priced to move, miles aside. The money difference or time difference at resale is real.

Your car, you have said, is worth very little on trade. Maybe you like no shields, but it's not helping, for one example. Homelink, not helping, for another. Those wheels, not helping, the split spokes are preferred.

This is a thread about buying a used car. The aim is to help others. You're trying to justify your build in this thread, and that's unnecessary. Enjoy your beautiful car. I'm taking from the real FF used market in the last 18 months, and what the specific US dealers who are on the leading edge of pricing and moving FFs agree are trends in wanted items.

10 bucks says none of you can actually program the Homelink...and you probably still have a VCR flashing *12:00*. Lol.

Yah Kev, hard to believe anyone wants to argue about this. All I said was it was an option I'd prefer to have.

It's all good. I probably will be able to figure out the home link once I learn how to use my 8 track and my rotary dial phone

You still didn't answer the questions. So who is saying nothing?

Dealers when you are post shopping as I am,, and when you're hanging out in a friendly way long past the point you're a customer, will tell you the truth is they trust you. Apparently you have not had this experience? You're perhaps one of those big talkers who is always being worked over for the next car by your dealer.

it seems people with multiple houses and multiple cars don't find a ton of utility in homelink. maybe that's is. and id say post people paying 350k for a car have both multiple houses and multiple cars.

it shows how little you know about Ferraris.

theres a ton of good market info in this thread - real life experiences as well as recent auction numbers. I can tell you my 380k msrp 2012 with 25k miles is worth about 140 to 150k wholesale. brian will tell you if I had shields and homelink it wld be worth 180k.

my friend just bought a 2012 ultra low mile nieman marcus from miller for low 2s.

conclusion, if ur serious about buying an FF 180k will get you one. maybe 200k if you want a later car with low miles. and if u don't care about miles I'm sure you can find one for 160k. hope that helps

The 2012 with 25k car is worth 160-162. Shields and homelink are split spoke wheels, 172-175.

Those NM cars should be under 200. Not the best build, not well loved.

Clearly not a brilliant dealer on top of the market

The place to look for FF pricing in the US is Houston and Long Island, those two dealers always on the game.

Homelink is useless, I never program them, waste of time... There is no way just these 3 options are worth $12k difference...

I'll give you this much...that made me laugh. Well played.

Yah, if Homelink is $12k when ordering new - it's not worth it. My context is that I'm interested in a used FF. On a used FF, if it has Homelink, I'm getting it for free because nobody is marking up used FF on the basis of having Homelink. A Pano glass roof FF is about the only option that pulls a premium (on *used FFs*).

Footnote: If you gotta have clickers, my vote is get a keychain clickers instead of the visor clip ones. I have a couple keychain clickers for my older cars which didn't have Homelink as an option.
