Steph Curry officially dropped out of the Olympic Team 2 days ago after he had been on the Nationa team the past couple of years. The reason for not going to the Olympics was given as Steph needs the offseason to rehabilitate from injuries to his knee and ankle so he can concentrate on next season...if this is not an admission of being injured, I don't know what is...when asked if he is injured, Steph will not directly say that he is injured and will say that his knee and ankle injuries are not the reason for his recent lack of offense. What else can he say? If he admits to being less than 100% than he will become even more of a target for the physical play that is being put on him in ever offensive and defensive series. I believe his injuries are affecting him somehat, but I also believe Curry's lack of offensive output is also due to smothering defense that the other teams have performed on the perimeter. How else would you explain the way that Klay is also struggling...I think Steph sees himself as a part of a team that still feels has an excellent chance to win the championship, despite his recent limitations...

Seems currys regular season is stronger than his post season both this year and last. injured or not, maybe his style game doesnt translate so well vs playoff defenses...

Note title of thread - Curry best season of all time. Truly great, great players don't disappear in world championship finals no matter what the score is. A great, great shooter. At times. But in game 3 he looked like a bewildered little boy. You can make book that neither Michael nor Oscar ever, ever had that look.

It is a long series...Curry had a dream season so far, doing dozens of things that no other player has achieved. If he bounces back into form like he did in games 3,4, and 5 in the OKC series, where at times both him and all the Warrriors looked lost, and the Warriors win the championship, I still think he would make a great case for having the best individual season of all time. Coming back from adversity will be remembered. Championships is what really matters and holds more weight than anything. That is why MJ, so far is the greatest player of all time.

Cam Newton just recently came out and said, "Steph Curry is the best player on the best team, but Lebron James is still the best player on the planet." OUCH. What a low blow considering Curry was an avid supporter of Newton andthe Panthers during their run. Not to mention he's dead wrong. Curry has a much higher bball IQ and is far more skilled than Lebron ever was, let alone now. Basketball is a game of finesse. Put the ball in as efficiently and prolifically as you can and get your teammates to do the same. All the muscle flexing, screaming, and hot-dogging is all WWE style hype to dupe the fans for popularity. Just look at how inefficient Westbrick is and has been and people rate him over KD.

As far as being 100% goes... This is playoffs basketball. No one's 100%. Everyones playing through some injury or level of body fatigue. Perhaps Curry is injured moreso than others, but it is not in his character to complain. Suck it up and play like a true leader does. They're winning. He came through when it mattered, which was against OKC. I still think the Cavs are not nearly as difficult for GSW as OKC was. Lebron rallied behind a great start for Kyrie Irving who I think is a much better PG than Westbrick.

The Bulls 72-10 run was followed by 1 loss in the playoffs leading up to the Finals. That alone still makes them the more impressive/dominant team compared to this year's GSW. Keep in mind they went 69 games the next year. Bulls face the Sonics and lose two games for a total of only 3 playoff loses. BUT, it is well-known MJ's performance against Gary Payton and the Sonics was his worse Finals performance in terms of efficiency and points output. Even the great, bionic, non-injured Michael Jordan succumbed to some hindering level of fatigue after a successful run year long.

So the question remains, who will be Finals MVP for the Warriors? Will Steph Curry let another year go by uncrowned?

still way to early to notch finals MVP yet...Livingston was best in game 1, Draymond was best in game 2, Kyrie was best in game 3...All games were essentially blow-outs. As Curry said, everything is holding true to form for a finals with everyone holding home court for now. We'll see she steals the first road win. As a Warriors fan, it was unsettling to see how the Dubs played in the beginning of game 3, but after watching the OKC series, setbacks like game 3 are not as worrying, as the Warriors really were at the bottom of a large pit at one point and somehow found a way to come back from oblivion...so far this is what most people will remember from this years finals-a lasting impression of the heart of a champion that refuses to die when critically injured...If the Warrior win the championship this year-the OKC comeback will likely be the memory that will live on forever...

I agree. Unless the Cavs somehow go up 3-2 and the Warriors find themselves in a pit again. Highly unlikely.

So if GSW vs OKC was the "real" Finals' match, who was the MVP of the series?

Most people will remember Klay's performance in game 6 at OKC as the most heroic performance of the OKC-GSW matchup. That performance alone would get my MVP vote for that series, as winning game 6 looked so unlikely and Klay's performance was pure magic on that day.

You still can make the argument for Curry as the MVP for the OKC series, as he recovered well in games 3, 4, and 5 (scoring above 30 points in all of these game) and made big shots in vital times at the end of all of those games, with his biggest game the closeout game 7 scoring 36. However, as mentioned above, withou Klay, the Dubs would have been done...

What an absolutely atrocious 4th quarter by Cleveland. It seems like they have forgotten how to pass the ball.

Now that the Warriors have stolen a road game, they are now in command. Steph Curry had a monster game with Klay playing a great wingman...Lebron had one of the worst games of his playoff career. folklore and the land of tall tales of long ago seems to think that great players never have off days, but all if the greats do...Kyrie continues to play inspired...the Warriors team shut the door on the Cavs in 2nd half tonight. Curry has had the most press the past following days as speculation has run rampant to blame injuries and poor concentration for Steph's prevuous game 3 performance. As I said earlier, everyone has bad games, tonight it was Lebron's turn to stumble...Today the relentless physical defense meant to beat up the 2 time MVP was still at full display, but again when pressed, curry and the Warriors find a way to adapt and the splash brothers combine to hit 17 3 pointers, an NBA finals record. It sounds like a redundant broken record, " another NBA record", but Steoh Curry and the 2015-16 GS Warriors continue to etch their names in the history books. I do not remember another team that has changed the landscape of the game like this current bunch. As Steve Kerr said tonight after the game, Steohen Curry does not have the size and presence to dominate the game physically, so he must use his skill to dominate the game, and that is not an easy thing to do by any measure...

I believe K Love is a power forward and Carmelo is a small forward (lebrons position). There is definitely a shortage of good power forwards in the NBA. Cavs could try small ball and go with anthony, but I think they've got a bust in center position with Tristan Thompson. I don't think he has enough presence to cover ground like a Steve Adams or Deandre Jordan does. I believe the Cavs are stuck. Or Lebron can try getting better for once and improve his shooting and mid range game. Lebron has the body and agility to be a great post up player, but he hasn't developed the skill. He gets in the post, backs down deep like he's gonna make a move, and then kicks it out with no double team in sight. He's a pass first , shoot second point forward.

I think the altercation at the end between Lebron and Steph shows Lebron is starting to realize his reign has come to an end and he's not thrilled there's a new Sheriff in town.

Lebron was a good shooter in miami. Hes dropped off last 2 seasons. Not sure why but he has to pick it back up. Mj learned midrange game mid career. Bron is like magic now. Great player despite not being able shoot

    Butcher,

Green is out for tonight's game. How well can GSW do without him? I know he's a main focal point of the offense once the Curry double team comes. Who can fill in for him? Or is this the perfect time for Curry to play Hero ball and emphatically take the Finals' MVP crown and prove to naysayers they can play with a key absence as well?

    Ken,
It is a big loss not having Draymond...I was very disappointed-but not surprised by the flagrant 1 ruling and subsequent suspension for 1 game. Draymond IS the emotional leader of this team. He must learn in the future to control his emotions.

I am quite surprised on why it took more than 2 days to announce the suspension. This really annoyed coach Kerr, because he really had to adjust on the fly quite late, especially when it was thought that most likely Draymond had avoided the suspension. They should have called the flagrant 1 at least by the next day. What did VP Kiki Vandeweigh need to do-watch the video 1000 times to make that decision? Invariably, Vandeweigh decided to call the flagrant 1 on the flailing swipe that Draymond made toward Lebron that missed Lebron horribly. Lebron, himself did not say that he got hit in the nuts, only saying that Draymond angered him by talking out of line from what would be considered competitive trash talk. It has apparently leaked out that Draymond had called Lebron a b#*+h and this is what angered Lebron, not getting hit.

Charles Barkley, the antagonist, interviewed Draymond after game 4 and valiantly poured fuel on the fire, stating that he would have hit Lebron in the jewels if he had been stepped over like that. Draymond did not admit that he tried to hit Lebron in the Jewels, but he did not flat deny it either.

I think all the media hype, social media, clamoring and leaking of information from Lebron, had all built up momentum to a point where Mr. Vandeweigh felt the need to be "God", majoring a major off court decision that may potentially coat the Warriors a championship, but will inevitably create more intrigue, interest, ratings, and money for the NBA. This is why he made the suspension decision-albeit quite late...

Before the Draymond suspension announcement, Ms. Vandeweigh posted on social media about how she just had a marital dispute with her husband in regards to a controversial decision that she was against. She then decided to delete her posts on the subject.

I believe this inevitably was a make up call for now suspending Draymond for the groin kick to Dtrven Adams in the OKC series...As a Warriors fan, I can take solace that losing Draymond for 1 game during the OKC series would likely have caused us to lose that series, so if I had to take a suspension for Draymond, the current suspension is the better case...

This is where Steph can assert himself and lead this team by example...Steph has already stated today that the team is banding together to win tonight's game for Draymond. As Spider-Man said above, iggy and HB will take turns on Lebron in large stints. Look to see Bogut, Festus, and Mo Speights to get more playing time, as the small ball lineup is no longer an option. If the Warriors spread the ball around, like they usually do they will score just fine. Without Draymond, I suspect K. Love will be more of a threat, and Lebron will score more. It looks to be a close game...

During my lunch break today I took a walk to the Dubs training facility in downtown Oakland. Yellow Strength in numbers shirts everywhere you look...Draymond Green and Lebron's names can be heard in every discussion passing every cafe shop, etc...

Usually you can see the players cars parked up at the top...usually lots of SUV's (G-wagons and even Chef Curry's Model X on occasion...however no one to be seen of or heard at noon time today...

I heard Stephen A. Smith talk on his show today and he claimed to have spoken to 25 current NBA players (he didn't give out names) and not one of them supported what LeBron did, they're all supporting Draymond.
