My detailer knocked out 80% of my stickies yesterday for me for $50 woohoo! He is going to knock out the temperature button and the under steering piece the next time. $100 to be de-stickied=#Winning!

And you are happy with the finish of bare plastic in your exotic car?

Nope, not passive aggressive at all. It's your car and if you are happy that is all that matters. Just want other reading to understand that cleaning the sticky goo is not the same as refinishing. Even DIY refinishing looks much better than bare plastic but I respect everyone's choice. Here are some refinished part :)

Yes I would and plan to leave mine bare . Less maintenance . That was one of the worst things Ferrari come out with.

I can see why you would say different because your business is correcting it .

Well true but I own 3 Ferrari's and a Maserati. I'm Fine with folks that don't use our services as we are buried with work. My suggestion is to search the forum and look at some of the great DIY threads and use some of the paints others haves used. At least then the car will look much better. But, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

I agree there are plenty of DIY thread but for that price vs condition, it well worth it

Detailer came by last night for a $50 freshen up, gave him an aditional $50 to finish the black cover under the weel, and the last two stickies I had. Great job these guys do, glad they were so well recommended to me in North Florida.

My first DIY experience in fixing the sticky parts was amazing !!!

As most owners of 360 modena cars, my car had started having sticky parts...
I had talked to my mechanic and was planning to take my car to him to fix all the parts.
He told me he was working with a guy that has a printing company to fix the signs because they come off when the parts are restored...

Last night after I washed and detailed my car, I though I would try with alcohol myself...
I first tried the ashtray that was in terrible condition.. I was impressed how much black stuff came off.. In the end the ash tray was nice and smooth !!! Very impressed...

Next I did the hazzard light console, with attention not to do the button because I would lose the signs... I got that perfect too !!

Finally I did the door handles with excellent results !!

The air vents I did not try, because of their shape and the signs... They are not too bad either...

Overall, great results and I feel very proud of myself for fixing my car !!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is an HVAC unit from a Ferrari California that came in yesterday. In this picture, all we did was clean the clear soft touch off so we can replicate the graphics.

Look how terrible this looks. Nothing beats the looks of a properly refinished part with the correct low gloss coating. Note, this HVAC unit is not complete, this is just an example of a cleaned off part. But, this one is painted plastic under the clear soft touch. Other parts would be black plastic and it looks OK, but not like one that's been properly refinished :)

That is awesome! A car never feels like your own until you work on it yourself - especially when you can do it for much cheaper than anyone else will.

You and I have different ideas of "terrible". It might be a little shiney for some but nothing that some masking tape and a light coat of satin clear wouldn't take care of.

I agree with you guys. Easy fix from this point to make it look super great and retain the factory symbols, lettering, etc.

My friends, while some parts can be cleaned and possibly clear coated, here are 2 examples of parts that can't as when you clean them, the graphics will be gone :)

Our processes fully restore these parts to better than new without the use of decals

What about this panel here guys? will the hazard and mirror and P light button sign come off? I just bought a 360 and its all sticky i'm about to take on this project, at least try it myself before spending ridiculous money . I just ordered isopropyl alcohol electronics cleaner bottle from amazon and some gloves, once the car arrives i'm getting to work (doing everything while still on car, i can't take anything off as i break everything when trying to do that)

Regardless of my business, I don't subscribe to the clean approach but to each his own. However, if you wish to DIY, do the job properly by removing the components. You just cannot do a good job otherwise.

Here are a few educational videos:

Use "Greased Lightning" an old toothbrush and lots of paper towels. Spray tiny squirts into the brush. scrub lightly, and then towel off. You can do this in place, with no harm to the mounting clips an no hassle dissembling. That panel is always the worst one. ANYTHING looks better than the gooey stickies. That has got to be the absolute worst Ferrari design spec ever, short of the snow plow F1 car. A decent textured finish in the molds would duplicate the matte effect with no rubber to go wrong. And then it's easier to maintain as well.
