Take note of the title of the thread...

The thread that I started is asking "If Steph Curry is having the greatest individual season of all time?"

I did not ask or state that he is the greatest NBA player of all time. I ,also, would not place Steph Curry as in the top 5 of the greatest NBA players of all time, as I believe he needs the 2016 championship and likely another one to be considered in the most elite group.

I still believe Curry's 2015-2016 NBA season has been at or near the top individual seasons of all time...My point in starting the thread was to highlight how special and historic Steph Curry's and the Golden State Warriors 2015-16 season has been...

Problem with curry in that game was he only took 11 shots. Its not about 'taking what defense gives you' if you want to be best in game. Curry has to assert himself no matter what tonight

If you only take 11 shots because the Cavs always rotate 3 players to the perimeter to guard you, there should be at least 2 other Warriors Wide open in the lane or paint area. If Curry and the other Warriors moves the ball to the open man and they get an uncontested shot-which happened a lot in games 1 and 2, then the Warriors win easily. They won by over 30 points when Curry took those 11 shots ( he also made 7/11- with most being 2 point shots as the mid range shot is open for Curry much of the time due to the overagressiveness of the defense. This is an efficient and effective game by Curry- if you count what effect Curry has on the defense and his scoring efficiency when he does shoot...game 2 and 4 were good games by Curry and should not be criticized as being poor. Game 3 was a horrible game by Curry in regards to his lack of aggressiveness and turnovers. game's 1 and 5 by Curry were below average games for Curry and the Warriors won one and lost one.

In the OKC series, Curry was below average in games 1-4, but he came back on fire in games 5,6, and 7 to lead a historic comeback.

If curry plays poorly and the Warriors lose the next 2 games, then it is fair to say that Curry did not perform up to expectations.

Lebron took the team on his back to stop any semblance of a comeback in game 6. Curry with a respectable performance with the fire that hopefully will run into game 7.

Lebron has probably iced the finals MVP.

The most important trophy will be the 2015-16 NBA championship, period.

This trophy will make significant impacts on both Lebron's and Curry's legacies.

This is what everyone wanted to see and it is down to Sunday-Fathers' day to decide everything...

Warriors need to step it up or will be known as the first team in history to blow a 3:1 finals lead.

Two NBA records in one season...

Just learned bron is all time leading scorer in elimination games. All time. That is clutch

when his confidence is up like tonight, hes like mj. Only question is, why does he ever lose confidence?

MJ is 6/6 in finals, so far Lebron is 2/5, In a few days Lebron will be 2/6 or 3/6. MJ wins this by a landslide...

All the talk about How the play of Lebron, Curry, Kyrie, or Klay have played to effect the last 2 games, one of the real killers for the Warriors the past 2 games has been the ineptitude of Harrison Barnes. The Cavs are straight leaving him open for uncontested 3's the past 2 games and he has been scoreless the past two games, going 0/8 for fame 5 and 0/8 in game 6. Lebron's recent play combined with Barnes recent play have really played major roles in what we have seen the past 2 games...A usual solid defender, Barnes as been toasted by Lebron as of late...

Barnes still out playing k love by wide margin.

D rodman couldn't stop bron last 2 games. Not even with a pippen double team.

Hes been that good and determined. Will he be same way sunday? I say no

The Warriors had two chances to put it away, and only have one chance left. From a 73-9 season to a possible unprecedented collapse in the Finals (as Kai mentioned, no team has ever lost the NBA Finals after leading 3-1).

Cleveland have pushed it to 7 games, where anything can happen, I would say they definitely like their chances.

Pressure is on GS...while the only other pressure I see is on Lebron to win another title (or not lost another title).

    Back to the original premise.

If GS loses game 7, and LeBron wins playoff finals MVP, did Steph have the greatest individual season ever?

greatest REGULAR season, yes. but its clear that curry cannot take over a playoff game alone the way lebron can. bron dribbles about 10 feet behind 3 pt line, decides whether to drive for dunk, drive and kick, etc. he runs everything. curry might do that in regular season but not in the playoffs this season or last.

Regular season is just a component of the total season.

Yes, you need to win to get to the playoffs, but the way Cleveland has pushed Curry around pinpoints his weaknesses (There aren't many, but he's not a big, physical player, he's a finesse player.)

I'm torn. I'd like to see Cleveland win, but I am not a big LeBron fan. I'd like to see GS win, but Andre Igoudala makes me crazy, and Steph isn't showing me much either.

So, game 7, in which I have zero invested, will be fun to watch.

imagine gsw wins close game 7 with no stand out player. bron has 40,12,10 triple double in losing effort. who's finals mvp? bron would lead all players in every stat. would be crazy

Has a losing team ever had a finals MVP? I know it's happened in the NHL, but not sure if in the NBA.

i think jerry west won a finals mvp in a losing effort. he was like 1 win and 9 losses in finals. thats one of the reasons i dont think lebrons legacy should be effected too much by his finals record. bird only won 3 rings. is that so much better than brons 2? and how many hall of famers did bird have as teammates while lebron is lucky to have a fellow all star
