Both got the same turbo upgrade. By Kimi himself and the team's account he struggled with fuel saving and tyre temperature and trapped in a vicious circle.

Helluva first post!...... I'm very intrigued - Seems you "signed up" two years back, and this is the first time you've posted?

Nothing wrong there of course, but seems "odd" to me.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

It took 2 tokens out of the 6 remaining. Ferrari initially tried to pass this new turbo as a reliability fix - no token required, but FIA didn't allow it. I suspect Ferrari planned to use the 6 for ICE upgrades, each takes three tokens. It's messed up now.

Monaco and Canada are said to be Kimi's bogey tracks. Cold & wet weather seemed to make it worse though.

Hi, Ian! I know it looks odd or let's say kinda suspicious. I'm just a lurker. Was an occasional one before signing up, since then started visiting more regularly. I just didn't feel like I knew enough to contribute any useful. Wish I were someone with more interesting background. :)

    These two points:
...seem directly inconsistent to me. On the one hand, you're saying they should run their own best strategy - which they clearly felt was a 2-stop. On the other hand, you say they should keep Merc in dirty air whenever possible - which would require choosing 1-stop.

I agree they should have marked Merc (for the reason you state), but that means being "preoccupied with" (I prefer "paying attention to") what Merc is doing.

Not 'suspicious' at all! Nothing wrong with lurking..... You made a very knowledgeable post on the token situation - Thanks!

Feel free to jump in whenever..... You appear much more knowledgeable than some I could name. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Here we are at yet another GP, and pretty much midway into the season, and a familiar theme continues to persist..."we have the pace, but we can't find it." lololol this is getting beyond stupid.

Sebastian Vettel, "Gap to Mercedes "not good news".

Well Maurizio - Is your job on the line?? Your team continues to improve and yields no wins given the talent and resources at hand, how do you explain your strategy failures? Is your CV current? We've noticed a lack of public press inputs from Sergio affirming your continued employment, but rumors are of a power struggle with Vettel for control of the team...

    Care to comment? :)

Well, looks like Ferrari doesn't just suck in F1...they couldn't win in Le Mans either, managing to only finish behind the Ford in GT PRO, and salvaging a consolation win in the 458 of the GT AM class....

    wonk, wonk...

I found Sergio's interview on SKY with Ted to be of interest prior to the race. He has a good idea of the issues the team and car face. He stated the engine is fine but the aero and tires continue to trouble the team.

He stated the retention of Kimi is on Kimi. No question. He must show results.

He made no mention of other moves within management.

U failed to mention that the organizers called the F488 fighting in GTPro, for the lead,
was called into the pits for a penalty for of all things 1 of their lights.
Total setup and it shows just where the lemans heads (up their butts) are at.
So much for a fair race. And that they adjusted the boP to favor the fords while
hurting Ferrari and crippling the Vettes.
I wouldnt call winng the GTAM class at the 24 lemans a consolation prize
by any means. We still won.
