I don't think the point was that Alonso doesn't complain, but how much MORE Lewis would complain in Alonso's position......allegedly

    Now you're being totally inaccurate!

After watching Nico drive off, with the exception of a pit-stop and him crossing the finish line, we never actually saw him again throughout the race!

(In fact I want some proof he actually drove the entire race because I seem to recollect seeing him drive the first lap, and he popped into the pit-lane for a tyre change [which I believe was due to his tyres getting cold due to not having to do any real work to all day so he wanted some warmer tyres], but I want proof he didn't just park up somewhere and go and do some shopping whilst everyone else was driving round the track and then came back to do the last lap and win the race! Did anyone else see him drive all of the laps?)

David Coulthard actually stated that one of the biggest problems for such a dominant team and its on-car sponsors is that, when you dominate a race so much, you don't actually get any TV coverage for your sponsors as the cameras never follow you!

And the point I was making is that I think it would be about the same amount of complaining as Alonso has done plenty of complaining himself on the radio over the last two seasons.

Let's be fair here, Hamilton wasn't the only driver frustrated by the teams not being allowed to assist with a technical fault on the car today, Kimi was also getting pretty p:censored:ed off with it too!

And to all those who are saying Lewis should just STFU and drive: I bet if you were in his position in a race, you'd be making just as much fuss about the situation rather than just sitting there accepting it!

How many times have any of you been stuck in traffic that's not moving and complained: "Oh come on!...........Something must be moving somewhere! What the f:censored:k is holding us up now?" out loud? - I know I have!

F1 drivers are no different to the rest of us when frustration strikes - Except their frustrations get broadcast for the World to hear!

Hurting then? Poor Elton, so much talent, too thick to press the right switch. Nico hit the right one!

I was very surprised how few incidents there were. I was expecting at least 1 safety car. Apparently they all learned to be extra cautious from the GP2 race which I hear had plenty of carnage, even resulting in a ban of some Japanese driver.

Great win for Nico, he needed that. W06 was so dominant he was in cruise control the entire race.

Good weekend for Nico. He may not be as ruthless as his competitors but if you give him a window to win, he's focused and gets the job done. This is turning into another nail bitter like 2014 and hopefully Vettel stays in the hunt and can cause the Mercs some trouble in the latter half of the season. Would love for this to be a multi-horse race like in '07 and '10

That interview was before the race. ;)

We don't need more circuits where money is the only reason they get a place on the calendar. All the buildings looked the same and the castle section "meh".

The race was boring. Highlighting "speed" doesn't make for a good race. All it highlighted was the gulf in skill between GP2 and F1.

    Fixing F1 > exotic locations.

I wouldn't say it was not exciting .
This was a totally new track and no former data which made
    It very interesting.
This is a track where you can be driving down the straight away
doing 237 mph (Bottas) and then braking to 60 mph.
This track takes nerves of steel. Similar to Isle of Man motorcycle race
    Here are the comments from
    Steve Matchet:
You need to commit when entering turn 7,8,9
Translation: you need big balls !!

    Romain Grosjean:
You need big balls to drive this circuit
    Roman actually said it!
    Vettel:
You need to be well equipped to drive this circuit
    Translation: big balls!!

As you can read above this track was intense and even
The back markers should be commended.

I don't think anyone had to take any real risks....just slipstream down the straight, pull out and pass. There was simply no need to take risks.

With no re-fueling, Pirelli's mission was to create 2-3 pit stops per race on average. Even with the softer compounds, we are seeing one stop vs. two stops which is not very compelling. Pirelli was too conservative on compounds for 2016 because of concern for increasd cornering speeds. Montreal should never be a one stop race. Same for Monaco. The race in Baku would have been very different with 2-3 stops per team. Also, if we are going to have three compounds on offer, let the teams us any combination of two to encourage more strategy options. Let's hope the wider tires for 2017 are as soft as they are sexy looking.

Both toto and niki alluded to Nico hitting the right switch when interviewed immediately after the race, the backtracking and Elton protection began after the dust settled. It's not my facts that need checking fella

In spite of Lewis whining about "no power", albeit with a tow he clocked the fasted top speed of the race.

    1) Lewis - 364,4 Km/h / 226.4 MPH
    2) Nico Hulkenberg - 363,5 Km/h / 225.9 MPH
    3) Marcus - 360,6 Km/h / 224.1 mph
    7) Kimi - 356,9 Km/h / 221.8 mph
    12) Sebastian - 352,2 Km/h / 218.9 MPH

Fastest of the weekend was Valtteri in Qualifying with a tow-assisted 366,1 Km/h / 227.5 MPH

Did any of you watch the GP2 sprint race? That was a proper show. I had no idea who the drivers were, but it didn't matter one bit. They had it all - close racing, amazing noise, non Drs assisted over takes for the lead just one lap from the end, numerous safety cars and a completely clueless Japanese driver attempting suicide at every safety car restart. And all that in 21 laps! F1 could learn a lot from that show.
