Is the Cognac a standard leather colour or Semi Analina only?

Had a good poke around the GTC4 Lusso at Goodwood yesterday in the Ferrari hospitality and was pretty impressed - still i'll wait a couple of years before i switch, but pretty sure i will change up in due course. Really enjoyed my day as a guest of Ferrari, very well organised, lots of charming people, and decent spot to watch the action.

Are you guys big fans of semi aniline leather ? I have not been only because of the way it wears so poorly

Not particularly but the colour is terrific and I believe the second generation Semi Analina doesn't go shiney like the ciouo toscana which always looked too orangy to me.

Not heard about wear problems, in that do you mean degradation, cracking or???

From what I understand it will make its way after roughly two years of GTC4Lusso V12 production, somewhat coinciding with the switch to Ferrari's smaller displacement high-revving NA V12 (outline specs confirmed to me by factory managerial level personnel, will not post further details out of respect for their work) which will feature in the upcoming V12GT. The GTC4Lusso will then only be available with the V8TT.

Interesting, did the guy you talked to seem comfortable with the direction they were going in?

Well the crowd isn't shouting Hallulejah over how things are done in Maranello post-LdM (no secret unless you've been sleeping under a rock) - but the new engine certainly sounded like a serious piece of kit. Nothing but immense praise of the driving characterics belonging to the GTC4Lusso from those inside the gates I've spoken to. Supposedly quite a step up from the FF, with the new 4RM and PCV.

Can't see it myself. The whole FF Lusso concept was a go anywhere all things to all men 4wd Supercar for the devoted F car person. A V8 just doesn't have the grand fromage standing, good as it is.

Volume is of the essence. Bean counters run the company. Look at FF sales v F12 sales, add in what should relatively outsell the other... V12 Berlinetta will always be the ultimate F Connoisseurs choice. Lusso ment as a supplement to the range (paradigm shift that of course happened 612 -> FF), and outreach to new market groups. Absolutely of no surprise to me when I heard this - and if indeed the Lusso ends up exclusively V8.

I agree. as an FF owner id def consider a V8 lusso, as I've said before sign me up if that means having to gas up less!

Car looks great in what appears to be TDF.

Very interesting... It also shows the new Ferrari redesigning the product grid as before it was:

    V12 Sports: F12
    V12 GT: FF

    V8 Sports: 458
    V8 GT: California

Now we will have something more like this:

    V12 Sports: F12
    no V12 GT

    V8 Sports: 488
    V8 GT Convertible: California T
    V8 GT 4 seats/ 4RM: GTC4

I think I liked it the other way better but.. maybe going with the turbo V8 will make the more relevant to daily driving. Of course, at least for me, relevant to daily driving isn't what I usually look for in a Ferrari....

A turbo is for a 4 cyl engine to have passing power. That's it. Audi, VW, Saab, etc.

A great contrast here between understanding what the Ferrari shooting brake is all about and not.

Turbo cars are like driving 2 engines at once, they never mesh seamlessly. A turbo boosted engine that feels 100% NA? Doesn't exist. I'm all about NA (or maybe NA supercharged) in any car. Especially in a Ferrari.

A light touch can get you 17 MPG highway from the V12 in the FF, not bad really if that matters to you. Yet does anyone buy a Ferrari for fuel economy? Kind of makes it seem more like a status symbol than a drivers car to worry about gas of the NA experience, doesn't it?

If that's what it takes to keep better and better Ferrari products coming out than I'm all for the changes. Will it be perfect? Probably not but at least they are not going down the suv, mass market route.

    The pics look great!

I like to watch Fox News from time to time, to see how those folks think about the world. Perhaps you could choose to ignore my posts? Instead of telling me what to do and making a decidedly personal post.

Is a few MPG in fuel economy all that important to a Ferrari driver?
Is a few MPG worth giving up the V12?

If it's supercharged, it's no longer NA

You folks on the other side of the pond are very lucky in that petrol is so cheap ; we pay USD equivalent $1.80/litre here.....

In Los Angeles super test gas costs $3.47 / gallon (3.78 liters)
    Or £ 4.66 for 3.78 liters.

Yes I get the concept, thank you. I'm saying the a nice supercharged engine still FEELS like it's NA. Turbos are turbos, even with the modern tricks. What percentage really wants to drive a turbo Ferrari given the choice to not do it? Very small would be my bet. Very.
