Poking around the internet I saw some used DBS's for around $125k. Thinking I could get one for under $120k, it would be an undeniable value to me. But is it?!

To me, it's beautiful and I know it sounds great. But....does anyone have any advice as to the performance, reliability, fit and finish (can be spotty with Aston), etc. for a 2011 DBS?

DBS: great car to drive if you are looking for class and fun. I have not heard these breaking down either.
In term of collectible, well, ask yourself what whould make a Gaydon made car on a DB9 chassis a collectible. If you find answers, please post them, then go ahead.

Personally, for $120k I would go for a 2014 DB9 like this one : Aston Martin DB9 Sport | eBay

The 2014 DB9 has the same power than the DBS (510 hp) but has more torque.
It also gets a more direct steering and a 3 settings suspension. Plus some minor cosmetic changes in the interior. And of course a new design compared to the 2006-2012 1st generation DB9, including the DBS style boot lid.

I drove back to back a DBS and a 2014 DB9 and I preferred the DB9. Both cars are not so different and for sure the DBS is a great car with the "James Bond appeal" + some unique esthetic attributs as the hood, the rear diffuser and the mirrors base in carbon fiber.

Well, to sum up if I had to choose a Gaydon era car it would be a 2014 DB9. The best would be the limited edition DB9 GT with 540 hp but I'm not sure the US market is concerned by this one ?

DBS any day over a DB9. One was the top of the range, the other wasn't/isn't. And nothing looks the business like a DBS.

I would agree with Armen on that one. this is not the DB9 from before. Wished the name would have changed. I saw the new DB9 and it is really good looking, not mentioning new technology. Personally, I dont see collectibility on the Gaydon era, even for the DBS, but i see nice, easy to maintain cars. Might as well get the latest technology with the most grunt.

Get a DBS with 3 pedals and a shifter and you will have a collectible Gaydon era Aston...

A new Vanquish might not be much higher.

I always liked the DBS though.

When I replaced my DB 9, I split the difference and got a Virage. I love it.
