Ferrari President Marchionne ‘hurting’ the team

Ferrari President Sergio Marchionne’s lack of F1 knowledge may be hurting the team according to ex Benetton / Renault boss Flavio Briatore, and the Scuderia must make strategic changes in order to achieve their objectives.

“It is difficult to win in Formula 1. Ferrari must not change directors, they have already gone through several of them. They have to internationalise, [and] they simply must open a technological base in England.

“If you produce champagne it’s better to be in France. If you make prosciutto it’s better to be based in Parma. However, if you are in Formula 1 you have to be in England.”

I agree entirely with the last sentence.

Me too. Maybe the English soccer team can be based out of Italy as a sort of exchange. Seriously they tried that with Barnard but that was 25 years ago. Things are much easier now and they should give it another go.

Did you agree with the last sentence from 1999 to 2005 as well?

Aren't McLaren based in England BTW? - Hmmm.... They've been worse than Ferrari have over recent years haven't they?

Aren't Williams based in England? - They've been even worse than McLaren have over the recent years though haven't they?

How can that be if being based in England is the answer to F1 success?

Sounds to Me as though Flavio Briatore has been drinking too much champagne!

The info in that article is totally outdated: that was before UK quit the EU and before Flavio did a liposuction.
