Carlo's GLA12923 in Scotland a few years ago.

I know there is a very similar period image of Vahe M's white Downdraft in a similar repose behind Portman's London showroom from 25 years ago.

The Downdraft used in the Miami Vice episode "Bought & Paid For" that aired in November 1985 (actually shot in August of that year) featured a Bianco/Bianco DD with zero DOT appendages.

My theory based on timeline and some research is that this car was the then newly-imported FLA12806, prior to having the DOT work done upon it.

The same car with Detective Crockett (Don Johnson) and villain.

Of course this episode also featured a DOT-modified white LP500S with dark interior.

David, I meant to mention that the Oman Royal Family got 2 cars, the HLA12094 you have, and HLA12058 (engine 1270) delivered a little earlier, Rosso Siviglia, Panna with red piping. Its also here in the USA now!

I have made a few attempts to contact Shanfari and have yet to receive a response. For some reason Louisiana DMV wants to know who the previous owners were and its always interesting to know the history of any car.
We are very excited to have it in the collection.

HLA12094 was previously owned by Doctor Carlo Mauri of Cento (FE), Italy, a Lamborghini collector with a Miura P400S and an early Diablo besides this Downdraft. He was a member of the Italian Automobile Club, and IAC documents show that he had the car Italy-registered BS.190.LM.

The seller of the car to you should have conveyed the aforementioned previous-owner documents to you, and perhaps they would suffice for your local DMV.

    David, guess what?

I just found HLA12094's Italian Title and ACI documents in my archives verifying the information I posted, and I've emailed them to you in case you don't have them already.

    Hope that helps.

    Joe,
I was very impressed and delighted to receive this information. I have been an Fcar guy for some 40 years now and honestly admired Lamborghini but was so wrapped up in Ferrari I never studied them the way that you have. It's brilliant.
Prior to the Audi take over I visited Sant Agata and met with Sig. Greco who was their chairman at the time. He offered me an "assistenza" in Jupiter Florida which required $90K up front for Parts and Tools.
Lamborghini was struggling so I passed and I regret doing so since. I enjoying reading your comments and progress reports daily. Enthusiasm fuels our love for these cars and yours is evident in every post. Bravo!

I'm just happy you finally have something to satisfy the kind folks at the Louisiana DMV!

Happy and DMV should never be used in the same sentence.

    Hi Joe

12807 was B987MLN sadly ( not B967MLN ) definitely. It was silver and disappeared to I don't know where early in its life. It was never red. I think B967 MLN was 12803..

CLA12550 definitely. Ex-BR33. The collection in the Isle of Man that it is pictured in is fabulous.

No, red car is 12149 E731KYL not 12065 - I have corrected you on this before Joe!

    12065 was E732KYL...

Strudwick? Don't know this one. Got a photo of the front? All the RHD skirted 88s in white have a different coloured interior, so they are not too hard to ID... From the front!

Robert, I have the proverbial 'head full of numbers' so the older I get the more you'll have to remind me :D

    So here is HLA12065

    Yes Brian Strudwick.

He, Nick Asher & Mike Taylor had DDs around the same time.

Don't have a front image unfortunately.

Final body items to be completed are the doors.

Question: the stainless steel brake Lines in the wheel well, are they painted or just steel?

Alex, weren't the brake lines originally shrouded in that black plastic (?) material?

The images below are something from my archives and they are not from a Downdraft but actually from an LP500S, I'm just assuming they are the same.

BTW, in-the-period, ATE calipers were supplied in a range of shades from silver to gold, we went with the gold, what about you?
