Hey, 4rePhill...Redbull finished ahead of Ferrari. With many races left to go... Ferrari, 3 tokens left Renault, 21 tokens left My question is if Merc "knew the softs were the tires" to go with for the race, why did they pit Ros on Ultrasofts? And then why did they give Hamilton the undercut only to pit Rosberg immediately after?
Another extremely impressive race from Verstappen though. Like I said before he came to Red Bull...he's not the best in quali, never has been...but race pace he is very special. I'm actually surprised how well he does against Ricciardo on that front.
Great race, although I was very disappointed with Seb's bad luck. The only reason Nicole was in front was Lewis's slow pit. He never really had an advantage over Lewis, and to pull that stunt on the final lap was pure cowardice on Nicole's part. I'm no fan of Hambone either, but it is very, very poor sportsmanship to boo a world class athlete as the crowd did. I can only guess they are loyal to the declared "German" Nico since they are Austrians.
This really surprised/pissed me off. Rosberg was on much older tires, didn't get the chance to pit first...
We are lucky that MB still let their drivers race to the end...well up until now at least. Waiting for nicole to talk now ...expect 'my tyres were going off so had understeer which pushed me wide into lewis, didn't expect him to try overtake me there..... nothing i could do to avoid the contact, wasn't my fault etc etc...' Loser.
Toto defending Nico here, saying he braked exactly where he normally would. Herbert makes argument that Rosberg didn't turn in....which is true, BUT, to rosberg's defence IMO, he was running him wide, but due to brake issue he had more speed than he should've to do this correctly.
Toto angry, doesn't want to disrupt 1500 peoples hard work. In other words. Team orders are definitely coming because their 2 drivers are ****ing idiots.
Indeed. But even without that, he started behind Ricciardo (3 places) and was 10+ seconds up the road before Ricciardo pitted. Absolutely stunning pace this kid. And worrying (For some), he's only getting faster
Many of their "clashes" involve pushing each other to the tracks' limits. Spain, Canada, USGP, etc. when the title fight is between teammates in equal machinery, this will happen as they are going to use every millimeter of advantage to get the win. Like I said earlier, Nico didn't concede. This will be a tough fight until the end.
Just saw that as well. Will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. It's Lewis so I doubt it though.
lol @ nico trying to muscle hamilton off w an already broken car. desperation & stupidity took over there.
I was happy to see that. Same here. Who knew Eddie Jordan would be a breath of fresh air? No he didn't. He turned where he should have, nico was still going straight when hamilton turned. Brakes maybe, but perhaps nico was trying to knock him out completely, intentionally. But let's be honest here, it seems just about everyone in this forum always *****es about boring racing or just posting "zzzzzzz", and when there's actual racing even a hair over the line, they're all idiots, that's not racing, etc. It's a racing incident and was pretty damn exciting and dramatic way to end the race. So many here seem to think they're going to be proper gentleman on the track. Guess what, you wouldn't be.
No, his barge board and sidepod winglet were already damaged and flailing about...then the brakes failed...then i guess his steering wheel failed too at turn 2 lololol.
Let's also mention Perez's accident st the end. They didn't show a replay outside of his car, but it sure seemed like his car "dropped" before he lost control. Suspension or tire failure?
