I haven't heard of a new 70 years special model. They are talking about special editions of existing models instead.

Regarding the LF Aperta... nah! Looks like a LF with a bald spot! They also said that they 've reinforced the chassis, which means more weight and less performance.

PS: Removable hard top and soft top, a la F50.

Let me speculate here for a second: isn't it interesting that Ferrari releases pictures of the new LaFerrari the same day, almost the same time, as Aston Martin's introduction of their hypercar? Nice move on Ferrari... I love competition!!!

i asked the same question a while ago, and the respectable member said my guess of that special model being the 70th car was wrong. who knows he could be hiding something from all of us.

as far as the spider goes, it looks alright but i don't think it excites me the same way when i saw the coupe. i too would rather take the coupe over this any day.

I love it and I'm a coupe lover.

Ferrari's (very limited) blurb claims same performance. And to be honest, if the car gained 50kg, the amount of power on tap would make any difference in acceleration almost impossible to feel on the road.

The thought of blasting around the south of France in the fall, roof off and V12 wailing, is the perfect dream.

    +1 for that last sentence!

I'm not going to officially fall in love with her until I see a hi res picture with the doors up. I can't wait to see the first pictures of Peter's car in that pose!

I also can't wait to see the Huayra Roadster. Based on the teasing picture Pagani have released of the exhaust she is going to be spectacular.

It's not ugly but very straightforward, a few of the photoshops and model chops had guessed it exactly right months ago.

Bit of extra weight, I doubt anyone will ever complain that a LaFerrari (or Aperta of such) will be ''slow''.

I doubt much more than 25kg will be added in any case, carbon monocoque etc.

I don't know the exact number and for sure only instruments will be able to tell the difference, but why compromise an otherwise uncompromised car? It will always be 2nd best to the coupe...

If as you say only instruments will be able to tell the difference, then surely the convertible element, and more limited run, just make it more usable, fun in the real world(as well as being more valuable)if indeed they ever get to see the real world. History has shown us that the market is always stronger for the spyder versions, limited or not.

Forgot to add, I really love it.

1.8m euros, a run of 250 gives what, 450m euros, and the profit on this car must be massive. The UK is getting 11 apparently, all chosen by the factory.

looks to have a new, additional vent on the front fender, and a change in position of the side marker light. wonder what other small tweaks are hidden.

    Wheels are the same.
Minimal effort and a lazy way to celebrate the 70 anniversary if you look the entire car.

The LF Aperta has nothing to do with the 2017 anniversary.

Two weeks ago during the Cavalcade it was announced that for the celebration of the 70th anniversary in 2017 they will produce 70 individual tailor made cars of each regular model (not including the LF's or F12 tdf's). Total of 350 special tailor made cars (5x70=350). See also other thread for that.

I understand the price is 1.7 M Euro without tax. And the run will not be 250 units but rather 150 units. Which makes 255 M Euros.
