I do have aux tank. It's great for running to the bahamas as many of the places I go don't have fuel. I'm posted up at Atlantis/Nassau right now waiting for a break in the weather to get back to FTL. It's nasty right now. A 100'+ boat just came in from FTL. The waves in the gulf stream had knocked out the isinglass on the bridge and knocked over one of the huge tv sat domes. It was roped on. Too many owners push their crews too hard and it just beats the crap out of the boat. One of the perils of buying a boat that has been used for charters. They have more pressure to make deadlines.
Ya I wasn't sure how that worked with fuel in a lot of the places there. Kind of the same situation here if you go south into Mexico. Never hurts to have more on board. That doesn't sound like a fun crossing! Takes some serious weather to knock that stuff off. Checked passage weather earlier and they were showing seas 9'+ out of the north. Makes it nasty when it goes against the Gulfstream I bet. Never really thought about buying charter boats in that aspect before but you are 100% right. They get pushed to make deadlines and the boats take a beating as a result.

Great. Completely off topic, but what the heck. Are you familiar with 31 mile lake? I have client who owns one of the islands. Unbelievable place. I had never heard loons before. Plus, they talk about the wolves driving deer out onto the ice during the winter.

Yes it is mine and I'm really happy with the 400's. They have so much torque, are efficient and sound incredible at running speed. Plus they are low maintenance and literally purr like kittens around the dock. Mercury racing really put together a great package with the zero effort controls and all technology at your finger tips on three LCD's.
Those are the big guys from the normal manufacture standpoint. Check out the 557 from 7 Marine. Overkill is never a bad thing.lol
Yes, done skidoo ing out there and fishing. North east of Gatineau hills and the Motebello. Beautiful place.
Tennessee River indeed -- good eye , pic taken outside of Knoville coming back from a football game at UT
Sunset cruise with friends. We are fair weather boaters. This particular evening was on the rough side. We prefer the chop to be under 1 inch ... Image Unavailable, Please Login
