    is there something special about buying watches in Japan? Availability, exchange rate, or is the pricing better in Tokyo? I am heading over there on Sunday myself.

    i'm so excited about the watch bands I ordered, I can't contain myself. Patiently waited over a year before the guy in UK made another short production run. Tracking number from Royal Mail says they are at Chicago O'Hare today. Will post pics as soon as they get here. Hint: Speedy fans will especially enjoy.

    Very helpful, thank you. I now need to research the best used watch shop in Tokyo and figure out the excuse I would use to break away from my business meeting. A 17% discount sounds like it would be worth it.

    Considering your excellent taste in watches that is a compliment.
    It is a nice piece; tough to photograph though. The hands and numbers are also rose gold but you can't tell in the picture I posted.

    That dial has great patina and balance.
    I am a sucker for old chronos.

    This is my latest (cheap!) chrono.
    6138 Panda from the mid-1970s (strap cost about as much as the watch!).
    Solid as a rock, mechanical movements, great designs (some of them).
    Just can not beat these old Seikos.
