Sounds wayy better than the NR exhaust based on that clip. Truly sensational.

Is it with the Capristo muffler and test pipes or sports cats?

How many threads do we need to have where the 458 guys bash the 488 sound and 488 guys defend the 488 sound.

Ok, I finally got my 488, in the flesh, and I'm here to tell you it sounds different than a 458. I should know, I owned one for 5 years. I actually like the way it sounds a lot! Do I like it more than the 458, no. But I like it a lot never-the-less!!!!

So, lets keep the 488 sounds like **** stuff going otherwise we'd all get bored. Just saying

 

Arnie I'm down the street from you...sold my Speciale but would like to hear your 488 if you don't mind. I've only heard one and that was PCH. I need a more informed experience before I comment any more on the 488 vs anything sound.

 

Just my opinion, I actually prefer the stock 488 sound instead. Maybe it's the distortion in the video. 488 sounds different. It has a deeper growl and its own character compared to the na v8s. Rsms car looks brutally fast. That 355 video is amazing by the way, is that yours tres55?

 

I can tell you up front, the Speciale is a much more visceral experience. I'm tied up for the next couple of weeks, but when I'm back in town and settled, it would be my pleasure to meet up for a drive. PM me your email address.

You obviously are delusional! I haven't doctored up anything .. the sound is so loud and intense that the gopro cam's can't capture the range besides the wind noise.

I personally think it sounds fantastic now than before! a much more deeper meaningful sound than the muffled sound of the factory exhaust.
The experience of the 488 is well beyond just the sound .. l simply love the car!! Its spectacular in every respect... the power and response along with the drivability is second to none. I'm sure you guys who own just the 458 will see in time that this is the future.
Also i do have a mad sounding 458 for comparison .. and i would take the 488 in a heartbeat.

 

Agreed, but it sounds like you used the sound footage from the go-pro
installed next to the exhaust for all the shots...

I have not done that!! I had people standing on the road capturing with 3 different cams. the one at the start was a regular camcorder the next two were Gopro's 150ft and 250ft .. also had a gopro for the exhaust and the body cam unfortunately i used the open housing...hence the wind distortion.
if you listen closely you can hear the different tones!

I wouldn't do what your saying to get this car to sound any better trust me I'm least bit interested in proving anything.
You guys will love the sound of the Novitec full Inconel system we got installed on a 458 spider few days ago it has headers/testpipes /exhaust / carbon airbox and the novitec Ntronic ..sounds out of this world.. will have that up in a few days.

Your rsmspec 488 looks very aggressive and fast. Have you tested it again with your huracan, stock 488 or 650s the current mods? Your videos are a nice contribution to the forum

 

Cool! The Novitec N-tronic is then def. the way to go for the 488 imho!

Btw does the N-tronic setup add the extra hp gained by the ecu reflash
just in race mode or is the extra power constantly available in all modes?
