Seems to be drying nicely. I'm going to head to Plainview.

Beautiful color....if it was Mugello I would have ordered it on my next car but I was suspicious that it looked brighter, more radiant and not as dull as Mugello.

Maranello and Fiorano are hot !

    Thanks

Hi Steve...yes the Scud is sold.
All the tire kickers and so called "experts" on this site truly missed a good deal on a great, no stories car. It proves to me that they wouldn't recognize a good deal and when to pull the trigger if it hit them in the face. Too many posers and big talkers.

    Up next...we shall see ?

Hope your having a great summer !

Congrats! It was a beauty. Good luck on your next choice and I hope you bring it around to one of our meets when you get it.

See everyone tomorrow at Town Bagel.
    Weather looking good!

Hey, JUST got home. And I didn't go for the bagels :)

Brutal day. Left 7:30, Got love for the 355 from the local gas station attendant, hit GWB with no issues. GWB surface is still terrible though they are cleaning up the entrance ramps.
Stuck in traffic on the crossbronx for 3 miles. parking lot traffic.
Sitting still for 5 min I figured it's hot (98 degrees), I'll shut the car off.
    Bad idea
I guess from idling and standing still the engine compartment got hot & the starter stuck. Fortunately, I was just before an entrance ramp so there was a shoulder I could push the car to the side. I tried pushing it & popping the clutch...not enough space or speed. Must have looked funny to the passing cars after themselves sitting in 30min traffic. Rapping the starter didn't help years ago when I tried it, but I figured, what the heck. Got greasy & burnt my wrist and nope - didn't work this time either.
"Ha Ha" to the guy in the pickup truck who shouted "Should have bought a Chevy". Just the same...I'd be at the side of the road rusting.
10 min later, called AAA. "Help, send flat-bed WITH canvas tie-down straps to the CrossBronx!" Yeah right. "What is your plate? what is your state? what color is your license plate...." Huh? I s$%t you not. What color is my plate??? Look at your terminal. A red Ferrari. If he has to look at my plate - DONT send him.

The lord had pity on me. She fired up.
I took off yelling at the Customer Service Rep "Cancel, Cancel, Cancel! did you understand? "
    her: "I'm sending the truck"
me: "Hear me...cancel, cancel, cancel! Are you listening? And you are the worst rep I've ever had to deal with" I think she hung up on me. :)

got there, parked on a slight incline, had their Sunday Egg, Ham, Bacon Sub with a cup of coffee - and when I left, it started right up. I'll rebuild the starter tonight. it's easy.

but coming back the Traffic GPS lit up : 35min dead-stop on the Cross-island/cross-Bronx. It ws so bad it routed me across town. Fine until I hit Dyer for the tunnel. Dead stop. 15min in 118 degree weather. but the tunnel was fine.

I wont be doing this every weekend. :(

Good god Clyde, That was a nightmare of a drive home. Glad you eventually got there. I thought I was reading the automotive version of an old Penthouse letter to the editor. There is just no easy way around the city. Throw in the heat and...But you left us hanging ...what color is your plate?

Clyde...I am so sorry. As much as we loved having you come all the way from NJ to meet with us, unfortunately that Cross Bronx sucks!!!! It doesn't seem to matter what time of the day it is either. I avoid it like the plague. But it really is the only way to get to LI from northern NJ. Maybe try the Lincoln tunnel next time? I can't see that being as bad and the sound of that 355 in a tunnel?!? OMG.
Anyway, I hope you don't get too discouraged for at least making one of our next rallies maybe. Sept 11 is our Vineyard rally. Would love to have you come.
Also try Waze. It will re-route you around all that nasty traffic.

Sorry to hear what you went through. I second Steve's suggestion -- you should really use Waze. I have found it to be very helpful in figuring out which Hudson crossing will be best.

That Sunday sub looked great, but I'm sticking with the traditional bagel ;-)
