Euro version has a few differences, but most obvious is the two stubby ends are replaced with more feather like ends. My Euro 71 had the US version when I bought it, but I found and had Verell restore a Euro version I acquired. I still have the US version that was in the car, but haven't gotten around to putting it up for sale. I also had to source a Euro steering column cover so the Euro column switch would fit. I was lucky to find an original column cover from Dennis McCann back in 2011. Euro column cover is ~round...doesn't have the flat top for the inscribed chassis no.

Freeman, the petal shaped ends are only for 206's and L series.

One of the two switches I have, used to be on a European GT, L series.

Not entirely true...also correct for M-Series (which are all Euro). The petal ends seem much more fragile than the stubby US versions...probably why mine had been replaced at some point (like the Momo solid spoke steering wheel dated 1979).

Other than the obvious difference in the knobs, the rest (middle) position of the stalks is different. The petal knob white body switches the stalks are at approximately 10 o'clock & 2 o'clock. The newer black body switch stalks are at 9 & 3 o'clock.

This means that you must either have the correct housing for the style switch you're installing, or modify the stalk opening cutouts to allow the stalks full range of movement.

    Hope this is helpful.

Verell's explanation is exactly why I needed a Euro style cover (stalk positioning)...not to mention it was more correct for my Dino.
