A few more images. These show both rear light clusters installed, they look 'fitted' even before the caulking process Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Emilio, Any more images of this DD? It looks like Verde Abete (I corrected myself!) as shown below, and I would love to know if its original. Image Unavailable, Please Login
hi Joe there are some around...i will look the car is in Japan and i am not sure is original...the color could be verde abete but also a "custom" repaint looks nice in green aniway!
I'm curious as well. Should be ral 1036. In California your using water based, base coat clear coat. I think the original was a single stage. Whatever the case, they look beautiful.
The first owner subjected this car to many modifications, some of which unfortunately still remain. That said I think this represents a great opportunity. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would love to document the Downdrafts which had or have paint schemes beyond the standard PPG color chart. For example, the non-metallic 'Fosters blue' car is no longer blue, but red. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's a great idea! I also love those uncommon colors. Not to be limited to the downdraft though, it is interesteing on every Countach variant. We were talking earlier about a new or improved registry. It would be fantastic to include some powerful searching features so that we could drill down the info by colour, year, country, etc... And so that we could be able to compare the cars.
Something is strange, first of all if this car is really HLA12044 then one owner of bachenbuelach is missing, means the current owner is the third not the second. The car had Bobnar side extensions installed but no wing, when I installed my ignition box (2009) then owned by the second owners Hans H. (who owned formerly Miura S #4671). He sold the car ~2010 to Ferrari Dealer Bruno Wyss in Zofingen who had it for some month. I even documented the ignition box installation on Ltalk: http://www.lamborghini -talk.com/vbforum/12124-post1.html
I have images of it from the days when those aftermarket side-skirts were affixed. It also had wheel spacers on all 4, and the engine bay displays modifications to components and the use of a different type of lines etc. All of the latter can easily be rectified. Back to side-skirts, the only units that seem to be aesthetically in harmony with the Countach's overall design are the units designed by the factory themselves, and even then many prefer the cars without.
