Guys am I missing something here? Ian has a serious injury, which he reported to us...? And now he's MIA?

I'm starting to think if the regular posters here should probably have a thread with a contact number...you know just in case?

Just something to think about. I created a list of places that my husband needs to post in case something happens to me. It's morbid, but not a bad idea.

    Really a bad idea.

Now, on the other hand, if you want to have one or two folks that have your number, offered through the PM system, that would be a MUCH better idea. then each guy has two guys he can contact, and so on down the line.

You don't want any contact info in an unsubscribed area here unless you want the google bots to find and catalogue it.

And, with the new corporate guys taking over, you might not even want it in the subscribed areas, going forward. Best to have a phone chain, where each guy has a couple phone numbers, so if someone goes AWOL, it only takes a couple calls to track the guy down.

this is not consistent with his long chronicled posting history on f-chat. he is either in a hospital or behind bars. I hope that wherever he is that he is ok??

I disappeared from a forum several years ago as I had other life issues to deal with. I came back a few months later amid rumours that I was in jail. Perhaps Ian just needs time to himself?

I think it's really a good idea if one of us could maybe start a Whatsapp Group Chat, just in case to update each other for situations like this. I mean, i've been on this forum for years, and made lot of good friends, good information, etc.

So it's only logic if we can all keep in touch for an emergency situation, or on the lighter side if we are planning to visit each other's country.

Back to Ian, i really had no idea he was involved in a crash or some sort? I sincerely hope he is doing fine, as he's a calm patient, and has lots of knowledge.

I think he fell on concrete, hence the purple eye.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

It would surprise me too, since he seems to really enjoy the F1 section.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I can't claim to know Ian that well, but from the interactions I've had with him on Fchat over the years, I get the impression that if he were of a mind to leave Fchat then he would have posted why he was leaving and said goodbye to the many friends he's made on here - Especially if he'd become sick and tired of all the childish nonsense that seems to taken over the F1 section these days.

I genuinely hope he's okay, as others have already posted though - It doesn't look good! :(

I think you're wrong because things here did not seem to bother Ian, but he also frequented the paid forums and we haven't seen him there either. And there's not much to bother people there as long as they avoid P&R.
