To be fair, I think a lot of the nonsense on here did bother him but he didn't get involved with it.

As I've previously posted, I think had he simply left due to being fed up with some of what goes on in the F1 section these days, then he would have posted a farewell message and a brief explanation of just why he was leaving - I struggle to believe that he would walk away without saying goodbye.

(Saying that, other respected members have left Fchat before now without saying goodbye so it's not impossible)

 

By the way..as anyone seen Aircon lately?????

I didn't post because I thought Ian would eventually come along with a witty explanation. Hope he's doing ok wherever he is.

VIZSLA hasn't posted here in a while either but is active. Did he just get tired of what was going on?
Kraftwerk? He hasn't logged in since before Christmas.

 

Let's get back on track. Has rob any method to reach Ian?

Do we have Facebook info? There must be a way to contact a friend or family member?

Does he participate in any local cars and coffee events??

 

Did he friend Jim g or follow his project on Facebook? That may be a way? Do we have an idea of who might have services his 360 in the Campbell area?

Just more thoughts.

 

I thought the same this morning and did my check on him. For a moment I hoped he just eloped with Ian and they are somewhere on beach...

That is sad. Is that permanent?

Same here... Isn't there a California section here? Or perhaps some Ferrari cruise he has taken part in?

 

Aircon removed for good? Very sad. Hopefully he will be allowed back in when the rules suddenly change again.

 

I believe Isobel might have his contact info as he visited her once.

 

We're trying to get info on Ian's well being (Aircon's ban just being clarified ) without trying to score points ...

Score points? What are you on about?

Ian will be fine. He has expressed many times his distaste for certain aspects of the forum and is probably staging a silent protest. It won't be a health related issue.

If anything, given kraftwerks medical history we should all be concerned about his sudden disappearance some 6 months ago. I was sad to see him go

 

I meant the quip re sudden rule changes.

I do hope Krafty is fine too - super guy.

Oh. Not trying to score points. Could win a championship in one post if I wanted to. Definitely not my intention. I've learnt now to shut up about that sort of thing. No matter how logical or polite you are if you say a word you will be silenced like the rest of them.


Always a shame when an active poster leaves - even if I do not personally get along with them or have a different viewpoint. I hope kraftwerk Ian and aircon all come back/ are allowed back one day

Kraftwerk is fine...just taking a vacation from the madness.

Ian's departure was sudden and was not the result of any battles. It was literally from out of the blue

Kraftwerk was getting quite a bit of aggravation on here towards the end with various members seemingly wanting to bait him into arguments (TBF, he wasn't always the innocent party!), and so decided it wasn't worth the stress, especially after his health issues - I suspect he came to the conclusion that life really is just too short for that s:censored:t!


With Ian, there has been no aggravation (that's not really his style from what I know of him on here), and he was quite happily posting updates when they stopped out of the blue.

I'm pretty certain if he had even the slightest inkling that there were members worrying about his well being then he'd post a response to put our minds at rest.

I've tried Googling his name and details to see if there was any information about an accident or anything but nothing comes up.

Finger's crossed he's okay but it doesn't seem to be like him to just disappear!

 

Agreed. I haven't "known" him that long but it doesn't seem in character to leave without saying anything. And while the F1 forum might be questionable at times, Ian regularly posted in other places that are not contentious. I can't see him leaving all of them.

That's the worrying part...wonder if Bas has managed to get hold of a contact number via Isobel ?
