2175GT was my daily driver on arrival in the States for much of the Spring and Summer in 1993. She came with very meaty looking original GTO wheels and hand rolled / flared arches so the wheels and tires would clear. At the time, she was utterly worn-out but impossibly fun to use and I never worried about wear I parked her or the thought someone might steel her.

One day I ran out of gas and even after putting a few gallons back in, I had hopeless fowled out the Carbs on 30+ years worth of junk and sediment that had been sitting at the bottom of the tank. She was sold just a few days later but came back now fully restored two more times and I even had the chance to run her on the track after being fully restored.

She has now more or less found permanent caretakers at this time in Europe and it is unlikely I will ever have her back again in the future.

She will however always be my favorite!

    Ciao,

    Bill Noon

Craig, I'm not big on vin numbers (s***, where does one even start?) just noticed that your site was a little out of date with the usual marketing techniques. It happens, but is also something I know a little about.

I may drop by out of sheer curiosity though. The sound of that 12 roaring towards PCH sealed the (i)deal for me. Sincerely awesome.

Are the original wheels 15" 72 spoke Daytona?

Bill, I was pretty good at advising my parents (keep in mind in '93 I was about 14) but this one was out of my reach; sell a house, buy a Ferrari, make 1000% over a decade or two.

Hard sell <bangs head on desk>

Saw this same gent and his California in Santa Monica today -- SN? Definitely a LWB and covered headlights, though no pony tail on the driver... I wanted to chase it down for a better look but better judgement kicked in: I kinda dislike people who do that and my insurance doesn't quite make it to $10 million... ;)

Great to see these things still being used. They are not trophies after all.

Sorry ? Why sorry ? It looks like to a LWB California spyder like 1215GT or 1217GT...

Cool photo, any idea where it was taken?

I'm inclined to go with 1217GT as that did have a beige interior at one point, however, would need more information to confirm.

    Best

Very cool photo! Appears to be a European rally or hillclimb event and clearly not North America.

Also, choice of racing stripes could point to German or Belgian ownership, but that's entirely speculative of course.

    1699GT, I believe, although honestly I didn't ask. I probably should have.

You're correct; it's 1699GT. At first glance, I didn't see the pic from the rear showing the fuel filler and license plate. Thanks for sharing the photos!

Damn, if only, somebody could build a modern version of this. It doesn't get any better.

Close, but wrong! Well, right on the 1699GT... take another guess.

(Not often I get to correct Marcel!)

    12327. :)

And in Marcel''s defense, the number was incorrectly recorded by a spotter on the scene. ;)
