Chaps in the US, help please.
Is there a way in the US to find out which garage first registered a Ferrari? Reason I ask is as such: I have a blank service book for my 308GTS. Id like to contact the original garage (if still trading) to see if they have the original details for my car. With this info if they would be willing to complete my blank book as a 'duplicate' booklet.

Whilst not as good as an original booklet, which has disappeared over the midst of time, its a good alternative.... if at all possible.

    But how to do this?!?!??!

Have you searched these forums (or the web) to see if there are any references to your chassis number?

What year is the car? Do you know its history to where in the US it might have been? This can start to narrow down the search. But do be aware that many of the dealers at that time have changed ownership or ceased. But, there are still some people around from that time that may have information.

Have you tried reaching Ferrari Market Letter? They keep files on Ferraris and Gerald kept records on a lot of the cars that came through FAF in Atlanta.

    Thanks for the replies.
So I've just tried my SN in Google and on here and nothing unfortunately.
What I do have with the car is a carfax. The earliest entry is 07/1984 showing a 'title issued or updated' (not sure what this means). It's from the Missouri motor vehicle dept. I was informed by the previous owner however that the car was originally sold in Chicago when new in 1982 to a Karl Singer. I then have a list of previous owners.

Where to go from here though??

Start with FNA surely? They will certainly have the information although I don't know how helpful they are.

The 1982 Dealer Directory lists Continental Motors of Countryside, IL 60525; and Lake Forest Sports Cars, Lake Forest, IL 60045. Hope that this is of some help.

Both dealerships are still in business with the original owners. Your odds went up.

Both Chicago area dealers have moved short distances since 1982, but here are their current phone numbers:
    Continental is 630-655-3535
    Lake Forest is 847-295-6560
