Agreed. It wasn't kind to his teammate, but his teammate is his championship rival and Rosberg needs to look after his own race.

    All the best,

Agree, but I was hoping Nicole was going to be brave or desperate and take on Elton, but that was never going to happen.

I must say the start was fantastic!!

You mean it's a repeat of last year, which was a repeat of the year before? :)

Bring on 2017. Every time there is a major rule change, it shakes up the pack. Unfortunately, it also tends to lead to one team dominating everyone else...

Someone else in the thread said that Elton ''literally came from nothing''. He grew up in a £600k house, lol. And karting at a top level, even for kids, is anything but cheap. From his 11th birthday all racing costs where taking care off by papa Ron, who then 12 years later gave him his first F1 car, the fastest of the field. It didn't take long for Hamilton to tell him to ''go swivel'', though.

If that's coming from literally nothing...

Yes Stevenage itself is an ok kind of place ,i was thinking more on the difference in their early upbringing years:

Earlier in the season Hamilton, whose deftness at the wheel does not mean he is above playing mind games, suggested he was the hungrier driver. “Let me tell you this: I come from a not-great place in Stevenage and lived on a couch in my dad’s apartment, while Nico grew up in Monaco with jets and hotels and boats and all these kind of things, so the hunger is different.” (Motor Sport Magazine 2014).

So Lewis has, with his talent and a little help from uncle Ron,has now achieved the kind of lifestyle that Nicole grew up around from 4 weeks old when he moved to Monaco.

Keke? Yes respect,he did it the hard way.He was 10x the driver his son will ever be.

Yes Stevenage is no South Central for sure, slightly closer would be ,cough,Luton? Even Brixton has been pretty much gentrified, where do all those wannabe UK rappers live?

I'm pretty sure even his dad says that story is bull****, that Hamilton slept on the sofa. All he did was fall asleep there sometimes, lol.

+1 LOL 'street cred' was something LH never needed to worry about. He didnt come from a place where that was measured. I dont know why he thinks he needs it now lol.

This is the 3 bed council house where Lewis lived with his mum until age 11...I dunno if you have ever been on a Council Estate in the Uk but most are not the greatest places on earth..but some folks have no choice. Monaco would seem a tad more pleasant environment.

Did the race happen yet? I caught the two hour drivers parade :D

At least when Vettel won every race we still had the glorious V8's and radio chatter to entertain us. Now we have vacuum cleaners and silence(except for the occasional Seb whine fest).

Yes been there. Compton, Harlem, slums in Africa it is not.

3 Bed house. According to his wiki he lived with mum, and then moved in with his dad into the 600K property when he was 12. 3 bedroom house, and the only people who lived there was his dad, his wife and Lewham's brother. So unless they had a bad marriage and had seperate rooms, there's no reason for him to sleep on the couch unless he just happened to fall asleep there.

Yes, Stevenage is not Monaco. But I'd feel perfectly happy safe around Stevenage, I'm pretty sure I won't get murdered asking for the way to the nearest pound shop.

This article says a bit more about Lewis's early years..i know a lot of the folks on here don't want to /won't read this.Fair enough.i believe his father did move into a small flat whan they split up,lewis aged 8, for a few years before moving into the house in 1997-2001 .The value quoted 600k was from a couple of years ago ..in those days would be a lot less than that.

Lewis Hamilton: My dad re-mortgaged our house to get me into F1 - he gave up his life savings - Mirror Online

Apologies for the thread creep guys! i know i will be labelled an Elton fan boy ...but really don't want to pick up the baton from our departed friend!

Esteban not too happy with Lewis:-

Hamilton ‘should respect all competitors’ – Gutierrez

Esteban Gutierrez has hit out at Hungarian Grand Prix race winner Lewis Hamilton for the 'not respectful' gesture he made in response to being held up by the Haas driver.

Despite waved blue flags being shown to Gutierrez, the Mexican did not yield to Hamilton until the pair pulled onto the home straight on lap 54, with Hamilton airing his frustration by gesturing towards him as he came through.

With Gutierrez receiving a five-second time penalty for ignoring blue flags, though Hamilton later admitted he 'may have accidentally wanted to' show his middle finger, he insists it was merely a frustrated wave.

Regardless, when Gutierrez was informed of Hamilton's reaction, he hit out at the championship leader for showing a 'lack of respect', maintaining he was simply trying to let him through in the safest place.

“Not a very respectful move from him I have to say,” he said. “I have spoken to him in the past, I think he is respectful he is the world champion, but he shouldn't do these kinds of things he should respect all of the competitors. You never know, maybe in the future I will be fighting a championship with him so he has to respect that.

Though Hamilton accepts the Hungaroring is a particularly difficult circuit for backmarkers to move out of the way, he says some of the driving standards in this area were suspect during the Budapest race.

“This is a hard track to get out the way, it's got some marbles off line and it wasn't good today in terms of getting through traffic. Some of the drivers were lifting at the most awkward positions where if you went into a corner too quick you might collide, so it was definitely difficult to navigate today but fortunately I did it.

“With Gutierrez he just didn't abide by the flags that I could see were being waved at him. I lost so much time behind him and at the same time I lost so much time behind him but at the same time Nico was catching me. It was really tough but fortunately I eventually got by.”

I also thought Hamilton was intentionally slowing down to push Rosberg into the risk of being undercut. This was then confirmed when the team asked him to get moving or they'd bring in Rosberg first who would then have had the opportunity to undercut Hami.

This, together with Hamilton being the reason for Rosberg's investigation on Saturday night, makes me think Hamilton is due for a decent hiding by Toto and Lauda. Rosberg went out of his own way in Monaco to enable Hami to fight for the win. Hami was at no risk whatsoever after turn one in Hungary and then attempts to manipulate Rosberg's race in such way? Certainly it is clever, no doubt about it, but starkly against what the team in team stands for.

Rosberg will go down as the biggest fool if he loses 2016 by the margin he gifted Hamilton in Monaco. Because all he is thus far getting back for accepting team thinking is multiple kicks in the nuts.

No disrespect to the English here, but in America...England and Ghetto are not two words that go hand in hand. Nobody talks about how rough life was growing up in the "ghettos of London". I'm sure there's some seedy neighborhoods, but South Bronx it is not. Now if he came from East New York and was an F1 driver, he could gloat all he wanted and i'd support it.

I still can't believe he let his only title rival go ahead in Monaco. I've got a feeling he's going to regret it for the rest of his life. Hamilton will never, ever give him a place when fighting for the title when his car is crippled.

Far less scary faces hanging around in Stevenage. Have you seen some of the facelifts hanging on the pavements of Monaco ?

I agree with you of course . For the record i was simply comparing Stevenage to Monte Carlo....another poster upped the ante on this by bringing South Central into the discussion...

Putting in Palmer and Haryanto and they'll win the titles easy still.

Vettel and Ferrari are still the only ones who have won a race in the last 3 seasons that wasn't because of a Mercedes **** up (Malaysia and Singapore).

Completely agree. They need to bring back testing urgently. This bloody ban is like making the whole season just stagnant.
