Andy, I drove my Dino yesterday, not having driven it much this summer, and not for the last month or so. The difference in feel from the 458 is astounding. Although, while the Dino lacks the "grunt" of the 458, its engine snarl is more than adequate compensation! Thanks for the lovely photos, as always. Fred

Yes, quite a difference, isn't it, Fred. And what a pleasure the Dino brings too,

    Best,

My '72 Porsche 911T is the perfect "alter-ego" to my '72 Dino. Same vintage yet each defines the differences in their brand and country culture. Each is polarizing! Photo credit to "Ted7" http://ted7.com.

This little gem just joined my Dino. I couldn't resist the mid engine and the stick shift. My red Dino came off the line in yellow, not unlike the GT4. What a difference a few years makes.

The Cayman GT4 is a very interesting car to me, Marc. Very tempting.

Little did I realize what I was getting into when I got the GT4. It is WAY more car than I am a driver. But oh, is it a hoot to drive! There are various track days coming up at MidOhio. I plan on taking it up there for some fun track time. Consider getting one. It's a lot of car for the money. The only problem with it: there is no way I can drive around and not be seen. That yellow just screams look at me. Eh, could be worse😉

Oh Phat Frank, love that Alfa. That was one of my choices besides the GT4. I just didn't know when they would actually be stateside. Speaking of Alfas, my son and I are in the process of restoring a '71 GTV. This was my father's car from new. Dads gone but we are bringing his car back to life. The plan is to have it a street-legal SVRA car. The other car in the running was the new BMW M2. Great car but the Cayman just spoke to me.

My Pantera has been my Dino's garage companion for 25 yrs and is always fun and satisfying to drive.

For an inexpensive DD I recommend the Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ. About the same weight and power as the Dino but with the modern conveniences. "Fun to Drive" rating of 10-- like a go-kart. Largest downside is the very firm suspension and lack of sound deadening.

Next to my wifes ´69 246GT parks her ´54 XK 140 and my ´66 E-type. The ´71 911 2,2 E had to leave and will probably soon be replaced by a 308 GT4 (yes I already have a special one in mind). Looking forward until they all drive and have their plates on (pics will follow) ...

The 356A Speedster is a great compliment to the Dino! Both emotional and great fun to drive! The Speedster's character is robust (very German) vs the Dino's delicate gorgeousness. I feel really fortunate to experience both. Like great wines, they help you explore your palate.

    Fred,

These were available in period by Glasspar and also sold by Porsche. Takes about 2 minutes to remove. Uses the same mounting points as the soft top.

    Alberto,

Very Nice! I had one when new when I was in the Air Force and stationed in the UK. This one I found a few years ago. All original. I even have the original tires!

Freeman, I am in the process of restoring mine. The day I bought it new, I already had all the parts to turn it into a cafe' racer, as was the mode in the day.
Now it sits in the living room, much to my wife's amusement ;)

Fairing, gas tank, rear set foot pegs, single seat, Tommaselli clip ons, Kerker headers...

    Great bike!

    Regards, Alberto

PS. Lovely cars, by the way....

    Fred,

It's one of the reasons Speedsters appeal to a broad audience including hot rodders. The Glasspar hardtop is a lot of fun! My nickname for my Speedster is "Sergeant Schultz"!
