I remember seeing them at an air base in Sacramento in '82 (?), the ground crew had Mach 3+ on their caps and mugs, the aircraft leak like a sieve until they get up to speed at which point the panels expand and seal the gaps ...... I wonder if they found that out on the ground or flying it ?

    Some good videos here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZIGKwhQ8dw

Good question I suspect when they designed them they had an idea but new the probably didn't leak. I know it was standard practice to refuel them when airborne when the airframe heated up and sealed.
Great things given the age and to think all the titanium came from Russia, that fact made me smile.

If I touch anything I get an electric shock to remind me of my place.

Interesting how much brighter the Adelaide Oval was than the MCG.
Of the four pics I took that was the least blinding.

Of course a camera slightly better than a trashed i5 might have helped... :p

Visual approach on the glideslope tonight. But pretty much the same thing without the clouds!
Pic was taken as I turned onto final.

Really like the A350 look. Qatar's livery gives it a weirdly Nimrod-y feel, but it's still nice :) That livery looks amazing on a Qatari C-17 actually, but maybe that's just because we're used to seeing boring grey ones all the time.

The profile of the nose section is very Nimrod-like.
It's a very good looking aircraft, with a really nice elegant wing.

I'm looking forward to seeing one in a brighter livery - the Qatar one is a bit boring.

I also hear that there might be a bit of buyers remorse - not particularly reliable

That must have started very recently.

But this was the first A350 operating into Oz in any case. :)

I don't get it, but then again I know nothing about bogan cars and engines...

Hi John the 330 is doing brisbane and the 777s sharing Sydney and Melbourne with the 330s. The 350s are doing Europe starting September. ;-)
