Ryan, congrats! Great color choice. Very similar look/feel to my 360. Looking forward to seeing it! Ciao
Man, that is a sharp car. The color combo is very elegant. Now you have me rethinking the whole TdF or NART 360 spider vs a 430 berlinetta thing. 430 would have to wait until next year though.
No disagreement WRT gearbox, just curious. I drove a friend's 550 back to back with my (old) F355 and to me the difference was huge...didn't even feel like the cars came from the same company. Dimensionally, the 430 is a fair bit larger than a F355 but does it really creep into GT territory in terms of driving feel?
I don't think that the size has anything to do with it. It is probably more the spec of my F430 and the comparison to my 360. Granted, I'm probably not the best to ask but my 360 feels very sporty and aggressive while the F430 feels more touring oriented. The F430 is pretty much stock as the only mods are that it's slightly lowered on the stock suspension and it has 10mm spacers all the way around. The 360 has a motion suspension and a lot of CS and Challenge bits. It's loud and raucous. The F430 feels much more in the middle of the Track <---> Touring spectrum than the 360 is.
that is awesome! I envy you. I also have a space grey BMW with a coral red leather interior. The dash, carpets, parts of the doors are black giving it a two-tone look. I love it! BTW - I grew up in Boulder (1967-1990, 1993-1999) and went to Colorado School of Mines - class of 1990.
I love that color combo, please post more pictures I've always thought that my second car would be a front engined V12, so I'm very intrigued by your trade. Did you know you wanted to replace the 550 or was it just something that happened? Did you consider a 575?
I think you're referring to where I said the tail lights weren't as pleasing to the eye as the 360's. They're not but I found that the challenge grill really helps. It wasn't planned. There is a post explaining it in the owners section. I decided to sell a couple of cars to free up some money to help some people who are very close to me. Initially, I was going to sell one car: the 550 or 348CH. Then, as I agonized over which one to sell, I realized that the best move was to sell them both and buy an F430 or Scud. I did some research and drove a few cars and decided on this one. I did not want a 575M. I wanted something more like my 360. Nothing wrong with a 575M but I don't think it's a sportier car than the 550. Furthermore, I realized that of the three Ferrari non-Supercars that I owned, the 360 is the one I enjoyed the most. As a result, something from the F430 family made a lot of sense. Anyways, so far I really, really like it. Let's see how I feel after some miles and living with it for a while.

Let's see a better pic of those seats and the set up with the regular seat belts. That's a great idea!
