Well. What the **** are they going to do now?

I understand the reasons of course, regarding his wife and family.

 

Yep...another lack of continuity, or more "instability factor"...the reasons are of course perfectly understandable.

Obviously they'll try and get James Key now (already in Italy as far as I know), and he'll most definitely get a bigger paycheck at Ferrari...but presumably on gardening leave till end of year if it happens.

This is a huge ****ing blow to next year. Thank for for Ricciardo and Verstappen + Newey 2017.

 

Worst news of the season

 

Allison might have left Ferrari with a good design etc. Im not ready to worry just yet. Is it good news ...no. We wont know the true effect for sometime.

I wonder if this will accelerate a focus to next year's machine....

 

Who now? James Key? Really really liked Allison, what a shame.

I hope so. When where 2017 rules finalized? Normally has to be done by what, May? Allison did say the 2017 car would be beautiful...

James Key would be my immediate guess.

I doubt they can afford an all out spending war for Newey with Red Bull. Red Bull has much deeper pockets, and Newey is not keen on working in Italy.

 

So is he leaving just Ferrari or all of F1? That will be very telling...

 

Ferrari. He's returning to the UK to be with his kids who lost their mom. Wife + kids lived with him in Italy but when she suddenly died, the kids returned to UK because they where on their own with Allison working away most of the time.

This is also a good reason why the car is probably not where it should be right now, as he had to divide his time between the UK (funeral, kids, family stuff), Italy (develop the car) AND be at the races. Only 24 hours in a day so he was coming up short.

I don't blame him for the cars' lack of development, and neither does Ferrari (they never even mentioned it), I wish him well...

I presume there's going to be an almighty bidding war for the UK teams for him.,

 

For sometime, the rumor saw him back at Enstone, with Renault. Seems they have had contacts a few weeks back.

Ross said he hasn't been approached by ferrari ..and also that he hasn't said no.

Maybe sweater man will make him an offer he really can't refuse,i know he loves his fishing and all that but maybe like uncle Ron who got bored to death on the golf course and went back to racing...as Ross said 'never say never'.

 

I wonder if Montezemolo sent a consolation message to uncle sweater..he must be laughing his ass of (perhaps not because he truly loves Ferrari)..talk is cheap Sergio, eat some humble pie....

 

Family first. Big blow to Ferrari but James had to do it. People rate Key highly so that may be the next step. We shall see.

I think it's his way of saying the wheels are all falling off and the team aren't going anywhere.

 

Ferrari working exclusively on the 2017 car now, don't expect any significant upgrades on this car anymore.

 

I believe it is intended to be the "sad trombone" sound or something very similar. At least, that's how I've always taken it.

 

seems like some sort of buzz!!!

 

So we might as well skip the rest of the championship....
