    Hey fellas 2010 458. Its almost time for tires. Currently running the Pzero and want to switch to the trofeo R. What sizes should I be looking for? Running the stock upgraded wheels. I use the car mostly for canyon driving and a ocasional track day. Thank you.

    I'd call the guys at Tag Motorsports (fchat sponsors) and ask for their advise. I'll contact them when I need tires for my Speciale. Maybe they will give an fchat discount? LMK.

    You mean the Trofeo's ?

    Have a look in your Owners Manual; what brand of tyres was your car deliverred with ?

    So on the Trofeo R's for the STANDARD 458, we reccomend the OEM Size. 235/35/20 & 295/35/20. For Speciale, we reccomend going with the OEM Speciale Size.

    Even if you are running Speciale wheels on a standard car, go with the standard car sizing.

    One thing to notice with the Trofeo R's is that if you ARE tracking them, we recommend running them COLD at 5PSI lower than recommended as they tend to get hot quick on the track. Other than that, they are ABSOLUTELY Amazing! I had them on my 488 with my OEM Wheels, and they are stickier than glue :)

    Ok thank you. Car currently has the speciale sizes on it but the regular Pzero tires. Would it cause some kind of problem running the trofeo's in the larger speciale sizes?

    We have heard of some owners experiencing issues with traction control, electronic rear differential behavior, etc. when using the 305/30 Speciale rear tire size on the standard Italia. The Speciale has a shorter rear tire (in terms of overall diameter) than the Italia and its systems are programmed for this. The car's wheel speed sensors can get confused if you mess with the front to rear ratio too much.

    Because the Trofeo R runs wider and has a very flat contact patch with very few grooves, you're still putting a lot more rubber on the road in the standard 458 Italia 235/35 & 295/35 sizing than you are with the P Zeros which have a rounder sidewall profile and tend to run narrow.

    Since your goal is surely to get the best possible handling on the Trofeo Rs, we strongly recommend the standard Italia sizing even on the Speciale wheels. The car drives exceptionally well with this setup and the dry grip level is simply shocking.

    Guess you don't push the car enough to see the need for a trofeo R. The michelins don't manage heat as well, eventually grease up and push when at the limit.

    While a great street performance tire with tremendous wear patterns they lack at the limit and with continued heavy use.

    If you want to do anything to enhance performance a bit, run 245/35R20 in the front with the 295/35R20 in the rear. It will give you a tad less understeer and the diameter difference is so small from the OE size that it won't mess with the wheel speed sensors.

    I have trofeo Rs on my Italia with OEM tire sizes. They provide better grip and confidence but wear out much faster especially when you track them. They are much more expensive than the alternatives. If just road use, I think you will manage just as well with the factory tires.
    Trofeo Rs also take longer to warm up for street use and you will sacrifice a smoother ride when using them.

    My trofeos are just about worn out. I have previously had the michelin super sports. This time I will save my self a bunch of money and just put in the P zeros and learn to be a better driver with them.
