Same here, I enjoy different colors. If it was my spec I'd go gloss black wheels with red paint and no stripe. A car as special as this one deserves a color to make it pop.
Damn, didn't get allocation. I knew I should have just bought a Ford GT for the hell of it just for allocation of the new one.
There's still hope (in 3 years): "Unfortunately, we do not have enough Ford GTs to fulfill your request at this time. We have confirmed our Ford GT production plans for only two years. However, if additional production is confirmed, your application information will remain in your profile for easy updating."
I didn't get one, but hope to be in the second group in a couple of years. Thank you FORD for the process, and giving us all a chance at this amazing car. Looking forward to seeing another Ford Victory at COTA in mid September, and meeting some of the lucky fordgtforum members that are getting one of the new GT's.
Reading through (on fordgtforum) some of the stories of those who didn't get an allocation, I'm genuinely so deflated for them. I think Ford will have a PR nightmare as a result of this. There is going to be a lot of very sore feelings ... "Why did Mr. X get one, and I didn't?"
As a GT owner and multiple Ford owner I'm disappointed but knew it was going to be tough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I do wonder if a bunch of 2005/6 GT's and other rare Fords go on the market today the process was a curious one with a lot of potential for collateral damage to Ford from disappointed buyers.
I didn't get one. Three of my buddies didn't get one either. One that I thought had the best shot has owned over a dozen ford's over the last 10 years including a Ford GT. He typically buys all the higher end Ford cars as well, participates in shows, etc. Also denied! I never stood a chance... Maybe the next batch of 500.... Congrats to all who get accepted. You just tripled your investment and got a great car to enjoy
I will guarantee you see a lot of GT's on the market in the next few weeks. I know people who purchased them solely hoping it would up their chances. I guess some may hold onto them hoping the next round of 500 cars will be better luck for them but don't know what percentage that will be. Probably a good time to buy as some supply floods the market if you wanted the old GT. This is a tough one for Ford as lots of loyal Ford customers who owned many Fords and GT's didn't get one. Sometimes that leaves a bad taste in an owners mouth towards the brand after supporting them for so many years or decades. I'm sure some younger new social media guys got picked where some older loyal Ford owners who have bought dozen or more cars over the years/decades got passed by. I'm disappointed that I didn't get selected nor did anyone I know but we are all just going to remain optimistic that the next round of buyers might include at least one of us.
Be interesting to see if the market floods. Three GTs are coming up at Mecum with No Reserve. Since the allocation is out, might make them pull that "no reserve". Be VERY risky now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I sure hope Ford doesn't pick any of these less deserving YouTube darlings. I mean, why grant them a car which enables them to make a profit??!! Give them access to press cars instead.
this guy got one. not sure if he's deserving or not... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmETCjngpgU[/ame]
Don't fret too much. We were nicely declined as well. I purchased over 20 Fords in the last ten years including a 05 GT plus I have the car they were going after as well. 458 Speciale! Probably going to be a 50/50 mix of driven and garage queens/investments. Just my 2 cents. Gonna go out now and enjoy the crap out my Speciale....
