There was a red GT 350 at the Mid -Ohio Majors this past weekend with tires that were close to being slicks in design, and we wondered how they got the car home in the rain storm that hit on Saturday? But they were back at the track on Sunday with no apparent damage so who knows??

I've driven a 350, but now a 350R came in the other day. Oh man. It's pretty awesome.

One small nitpick though, the front wheels are not fully painted on the insides. It looks like bare metal/silver. However, the rears are all black. Odd.

Front splitter looks more aggressive than the 350. Hope to A/B these in a photoshoot sometime soon.

The GT350R has carbon wheels. The silver you see on the inner barrel of the front wheels is a ceramic plasma arc spray-on heat protection coating to protect the wheels from brake heat.

Yea the R also has a larger front splitter than the base GT350.

Last month I picked up a 2015 GT350 that was previously owned by Ford for "marketing and testing", Can't find out what that means.... They ran 3 through Manheim Detroit, (Ford kept a total of 5....4 regular GT350's and 1 R) all with miles in the 12k range, mine was one of those 3 that ran through Manheim.... Great car, and I don't mind the collectability of it, But I'm trying to find out what they actually used mine for....Supposedly the only Magnetic Metallic, Track Pkg, stripe delete car in the 137 car run...

Allocation was not based on prior units sold by Ford dealers. Hard to get an R allocation. Limited to 500 per year. Still a hefty ADM attached to most cars. If you can get one for $10k over, you are lucky right now. West coast dealers are asking huge mark-ups and not getting them.

    Wait a little longer.

These are great cars! Dealer markup puts them in GT-R territory and we know the outcome of that comparison.

In a year or two these are going to be one screaming hot bargain if you are actively shopping to snatch one up.

New gtr over $110k now and new track pack gtr adds another 10k on top of that. Seen comparisons with shelby being slower but more enjoyable. Might come down to wanting stick vs paddle.

I'm seriously thinking about selling the Ferrari and CTSV and getting one of these.

MSRP is just $63,000 but most I see are going for $100K. As JaguarXJ6 pointed out, patience is a virtue. Give it a year and I'll bet you can buy for sticker price or find a low-mileage used one.

You can get new 2016's for under 90k, unregistered 2015's lower than that, but these deals have all but dissipated.

The changes are not worth the bump in price on the GT-R unless you have to have the cosmetic appearance. The suspension and interior trim options were available on the 2015-2016 and drive train is identical. The MSRP bump benefits me, mine will continue to hold onto its value where I can drive it and not lose a penny! :D

If you can stomach a GT-R with 5K miles, you can snatch up a 2016 for the same price as a new 350R without markup.

I also have two stick cars that are very enjoyable in different ways, so I get it. Once you drive the GT-R with paddles, you either get it (it's purpose), or you get something else. The competitors to the GT-R are the 991/991.2 2015+ Porsche Turbo and R8 V10, so the MSRP price creep is because it can.
