While I did watch until the end of the race, I didn't watch the interviews. No interest in that at all today....

And how sad that Nicole realizes he has already lost the WDC and is resorting to desperation and coverups so early....

I never like to see one man or team dominate the sport for years in a row with no opposition. But at least in the V-10/V-8 years, you had the fantastic screaming engine symphony as consolation......now what do we have?

And Toto showed his contempt of Rosberg again in his best way...After the race he told the stop watch story in German TV with a smile as he was telling a joke to a few friends at his cracker-barrel...Rosberg was still in fight with the RB were 3 sec could make a difference and Toto is laughing when they screw it up??? I do not know how the rest of the team is thinking but I have the impression that Wolff personally could not care less about Rosberg as long as Hamilton is winning...

Edit: I really hope that the winning series of Mercedes is ending soon...only not to see the smug smile of Toto anymore

Turbo engines can sound fantastic with the proper setup and screaming open wastegate. I don't know how or why they've let today's cars continue to sound literally like 1990s video game impersonations of the Formula 1 cars of that time. It is IDENTICAL!!!

Maybe Nico should quit F1 and transfer to some form of racing where all you have to do is qualify.....

Not a fan of LH, find his constant fidgeting with his hair and petulant response to others very annoying. Brilliant talent but hangs around with the wrong sycophants.

Ferrari are losing the plot, now third in the constructors title and out of contention in the drivers challenge. Kimi has no stamina for a 50 lap challenge and his passion often manifests itself in frustration or anger. Seb is becoming disillusioned with the team's tactics and strategy compounded by the lack of top end speed from what was promised to be a 'game changing' car.

Very soon someone or something has to change and Ferrari need to focus everything on winning F1. Forget all the 'Special Versions' and limited edition road cars they mean very little if we cannot beat a company famous for supplying the third world TAXI fleets.

Even the Miglia Mille is dominated by Mercs of every vintage. Come on Ferrari .....get a grip.

    Rant over..................my apologies

I'll be home in a few days to watch on my DVR what I saw, lol. It'll be interesting to hear the English commentary.

I'm reading on this thread that it was a boring race. Well, I'd have to admit, it was from my standpoint too. I mean it was exciting from a fan point of view, but the field did not change much. I focused on the Haas brothers. There was a lot of movement there, or lack thereof right from the start.

I think I was the only spectator that was wearing a Haas F1 cap. I bought it on merchandise row. Haas had no shop to speak of. I searched everywhere to find anything and found the cap in the McLaren merchandise trailer. There was nothing in Melbourne earlier this year, so it was nice to pick up the cap and 'represent'.

I like Toto I don't think he plays favorites at all. Nico screwed up his home GP only he is to blame

Good joke on Facebook today. Why does Nico never walk his dog? Because he can't keep hold of the lead!

Sure...just look at the history of his comments and his face when one of his drivers is doing any mistake and you see his mind...
Yes, a lot of people screwed up that day: Nico at the start, the stewards with the penalty and then Mercedes at the "5-8 seconds"...I just wonder what you guys would have said if this (penalty and "not working stop watch") would have happened to Lewis...I am sure we would have a wild conspiracy theory how everybody tries to take away the WDC from poor Lewis...Now we had an untroubled easy victory by your poster boy and see "history in the making"...

Think it was Monza 2014 when he took the lead and the face said it all. He was furious the wrong driver was leading. He's got plenty of people fooled, though. Maybe an oscar is another award they'll win this season...

It says Lewis must be a decent driver too as he is currently out in front of Nicole, let me know when Nicole is WDC.

Decent yes, but not goat ;)
Nobody ever said that Nico is a goat so your comment makes absolutely zero sense...It is funny that people praise Hamilton for doing nothing but beating his team mate and at the same time his team mate is presented as a joke...Not very reasonable...

I did not say Nicole is a 'joke' or that Lewis is 'goat'...so i cannot see anything particularly unreasonable.

Nicole must have a different definition of full right lock than the rest of us when his steering wheel hasn't moved from it's straight on position?

A couple of questions and comments:
If a driver is trying to outbrake another into a corner by braking later, and a given distance is needed to slow from a given speed to a speed at which they can hold the corner, won't the overtaking driver who is braking later also have a later apex? By the way, over decades we have seen drivers "outbraking" themselves and the initially passed driver takes a traditional apex and repasses the overtaker on exit.

I have heard that Nico hit the brakes later, resulting from Max's feint to Nico's line. If you think a driver is coming over wouldn't he brake earlier to avoid the collision? maybe I have this wrong, but certainly a later braking point resulting from Max's feint does not make sense to me.

On the same subject, won't the stewards have all the telemetry to know the speeds and braking points of each driver? and if so, why don't we get to see that information after they render a decision to show justification for penalties given or no action taken? F1 could do with much more transparency if they really aren't the result fixing entity many believe they are.

I sure would like to know what that normal cornering speed is around that corner, and if Nico's was slower than it should be before turning in I could see justification for the penalty. If he took that corner at even near normal speed, the penalty is unjustifiable, to me. The stewards HAVE to know that kind of info, I have to believe.

Nicole's Mercedes didn't display any tires locking up, nor did he complain about his brakes as he tried to do when he did the same thing with Hamilton weeks earlier. What his in car camera did show was the complete lack of effort to turn his steering wheel either to make the apex or avoid Max. He's quickly gaining a reputation as a twit and I started off the season hoping he would win the championship, but NO longer as his "on-track" behavior is more than accidental. He's lucky not to have raced against Foyt, Parnelli Jones or Earnhardt Sr as they would have knocked his teeth out over those moves!

We were able to tape the F-1 and Indy car race today, thus avoiding the commercials etc....
My 24 yr. old son mentioned how boring F-1 has become and he's been watching it since he was 4 yrs. old, and now believes Indy car is more entertaining!

No that's not it. Despite an ex F1 driver and current Le Mans driver explaining it, with slo-mo and it getting quoted numerous times in this thread, he and others still have to make their own story up to suit their own argument.

Rosberg had a **** start and that completely compromised his own race (by his own doing). When he finally got close enough to the RBR he managed to pass. It was on the limit but acceptable. His race got further compromised by the 5 second penalty, the ''stopwatch failure'' resulting in a 12 second stop instead of a <8. Perez completely pushed (alonso?) off and he didn't get a penalty. Pretty much every single racing driver agrees that the penalty was bad, even one of my British mates (who is a racing driver and Hamilton fan) said the penalty was bull****.

But here we have a forum of a bunch of men who apparently know better than racing drivers and ex F1 drivers because it suits their argument that Rosberg sucks. Apparently Braking and steering should be entirely possible. Lol
