PLEASE NOTE - This engine is being sold as a table, NOT a functioning engine. Whether the engine does function, or not, we honestly do not know. To reiterate, this is being sold as a table NOT a functioning engine.

The specifics: this Offenhauser engine is a 260 model, engine number is 517. It is a genuine Offenhauser motor that was converted into a glass table. The glass atop the engine, as well as all supporting fixtures, were custom made. The "table" (engine) has obviously been used, for it's been within our dealership for 10+ years; that said, it is in immaculate condition. The glass shows some signs of wear, such as surface scratches and things of the like. All that is shown in the picture of the table is included, nothing more nothing less. Table can be picked up or shipped, but please note buyer pays actual shipping costs (pick-up is free of charge).

$10,000 is the asking price but serious offers would be accepted.

Of course if there are any questions please free to contact Jeremy Sus or Taylor Ladd at 630-655-3535

what an awesome awesome engine. I am doing this with a few other engines at the moment (not for resale purposes)

This is an extremely well done piece. Best of luck with the sale!

Love the engine turned pieces on the Offy. A lot of hand working on that beauty.

I had so much fun collecting vintage Offy performance parts for the cast iron wonder I had in a FJ40. But this! Super cool meter is pegged!

Offy of course built upon the work of the genius Harry Miller, who first went to Indy in 1920, '21...maybe.

The engine turning and detailed machining was a Miller feature, as they were literally "cost no object" pieces.

My family and that of Miller "did some business" during those years.
    That's a long time ago......

    GLWS!!!

Very cool piece. My problem is I would build a car around it to display in my office!

When Offy's didn't do well at Indy (Last win was 74-75 IIRC), Drake started doing Supervee motors. They built me a street motor for a Golf back then that was amazing. Thing would spin to 8500, had 2L stroker crank, trick pistons, head. 165hp at the wheels for a normally aspirated Golf. For $3600.Painted appropriately, it did quite well in Solo 2. :)
I may need this. Will talk with the wife. How tall is it, and how big is glass? I've got some glass in storage that may work.
    PM or reply here, whichever.

While we don't know the actual history, I'm sure it has some. I've tried to dig up something as it pertains to the background of the engine and haven't come up with anything yet.

    Engine is:
    29.5" wide
    35" long
    24.5" tall with glass
    23" without glass

The circular glass top itself is approximately 42.5" at it's widest point.

If ANY other pictures, specs, etc are needed do not hesitate to let me know.
