According to Peter's latest reports LOTS of unhappy feet rushing to the exits in Auburn Hills. Don't know if it has hit the design studios yet.

I came across this car at The Vette Shop in Detroit around 1967 when it was sent over there for service. It existed since 1965 and was owned by a Livonia businessman named Sassak. It had a t-top roof and similar sail panels, those almost identical to the "Mako Shark" Corvette. It is owned by his son now, 46 years later. I realize the '68 Corvette design was probably "hardened" by 1965 but would still like to hear if the car was ever loaned to GM Styling while they were refining the production '68 Corvette. By the way all three open Bizzarrinis will be on display at Pebble Beach Aug. 1st, 2016. I one time had a picture from the Turin Salon, probably around '66 and it had this sexy two seater sports car, with a very small OSCA-shaped grille that seems too small for the car, and I wondered, did it ever reach production? Was there a Titania company? Did the car survive to today? who was Scaglione working for when he designed it? A Carrozzeria?
Did it have a titanium body as its name would lead you to believe? I was disappointed when I found this website today called AllCarIndex that it had a lowly Ford Cortina engine rather than an exotic V8 or V12. Look a the pictures, guys, and see if it rings any bells?

I intermittently check in and lurk on this thread. I felt compelled to contribute today though!

I love the blue alpine a110's, but in my opinion this burgundy color below is quite possibly the most beautiful color and car combinations I have seen in my entire life.

Funny, I was just looking at this Grasse blog last night... written in 'the present' as if he's still around sort of.
Maybe it will fill in some loose ends, artwork, etc.

Whoa, thanks! had not seen that.
Herb could best be described as a 'Colorful Character'......and that's an understatement!

I drove the new fuel cell car
    the one that cost $57,000.
The design is bland and from the side view dated reminding me of Mazda RX4 Cosmo.
I was going to suggest they go to an Italian carrozzeria but what are the chances of that?
I say that because at $57,000 their car looks insignificant compared to the Tesla Model S
so at least an Italian design (and coachbuilder's badge) would give you some prestige. I told them "Nobody in the market for a suit is looking at what Japanese designers come up with" but what Armani does or E. Zegna is still looked at.
    I'm just sayin'

    Wally,

In one of your threads you asked about Jan deVroom. Tried to send you some info but your PM mailbox is full.

Well, I will grant you that it's probably the the most beautiful Renault...

    But that's not difficult.

Neat stuff. Good turn out of designers? Must have been interesting to see the evolution of the techniques over the decades as the materials the designer could drawing with changed.

Congratulations that they felt that 2 of your pieces were sufficiently worthy for display. But I want to see the Challenger/'Cuda that someone did with the stone reflection in the rocker panel.

It was a great turnout of the old school designer community. These guys were all before I got into the profession.
There was a good turnout of AMC designers and sculptors as they were the focus of the show. I couldn't help but think of Jeff Teague and his untimely passing.

Interesting that you drew the GT alongside the F40. :)

Funny you mention that. A young man who is about to enter design school and I'm guessing is around 18 yrs old asked me that very question last night. He said " Why did you put a F40" in that sketch?".......to which I replied.....why not? But I went on to explain my passion for Ferrari as a brand and how at the time the F40 was the "it" car in the late '80's when I did that sketch. At the time red cars, high performance, etc. it must have made sense. Looking back 28 yrs in hindsight......
