    Hi,

I am rather new to the forums. I just picked up a 6-Speed Gated Manual 2003 Ferrari 360 Modena Coupe; 1 owner car with around 3,000 miles on it. :)

I have been searching for my first Ferrari for many years, originally going after the F430 6-speed manual cars when they were in the low to mid $100k range and witnessed the prices skyrocket. Spending $180k to $220k no longer made sense and with the help of my brother's convincing, started my search for 360 Modena's instead. Call it a self fulfilling prophecy but I began to like the design, sound, and dynamics of the 360 more than the 430's. The 360 Modena has a simple, elegant, and beautiful design that still looks modern today. I looked at many cars and came to the conclusion that I should find the best example of a 360 since its a lot of money to spend anyways and I have OCD in keeping my cars in pristine condition; so value will probably not go down... After much research (thanks to this forum), I narrowed my search to only 2002-2004 360 coupe's with manual transmission that were red/beige with full service records. I found this one and flew to the Midwest then had it shipped closed container back to California. My first car was a green 92 BMW 318i that was damaged on one side with 214k miles that I kept fixing up; I always had a red Ferrari model car on desk as a kid. I loved that BMW but my dream to buy a Ferrari while I am still in my mid to late 20's just came true; I could not be happier :)

The car just had the belt service done, everything checked out clean with past service records since it was new, and it still has the new car smell and shine. The car exterior and interior are flawless; matte leather and no wear on bolsters. I am planning to tow it to Concourse in Pebble Beach; maybe I could win an award? I am having a full front clip clear bra put on next week and I'm looking to upgrade the rear grille to the Challenge Grille.

I have always been a fan of the older cars that are more direct, lighter weight, and have the feel that computers cannot replace; this car is that. Everything is tight, surprisingly comfortable, and very sharp in throttle response, handling, and composure. I've driven 600+HP cars but speed/power does not always equate to a superior car. The 360's may not be the fastest cars on the road but I think there is no replacement to proper engineering and a balanced performance car. I cant help smiling while driving it...

agreed... welcome to the 3-pedal 360 club. You found quite the garage queen and that sounds like it is up your alley. Congrats and enjoy! (I'm about to cross 20,000 miles on my year 2000 car!!! Oh the horror!)

Wow, that's nice. Just like my car. :)

So 3,000 miles in 12-14 years. That's maybe one or two weekend rides a year. I'll never understand why some people buy these cars. I guess I am not a real car person.

Congrats on achieving a dream. Keep the rear end and don't change it to the challenge, I think this is easier on the eyes.

    That is one pristine car!!!!
With so few miles and so many years, has the cam belts been replaced yet? If not, I would not drive it till they are replaced. Same with the belt tensioner(s) as in Hill Engineering.

    Good Luck and Enjoy!!!

Congrats on getting into to be the extinct model. The gated shifter is what so many people love and you were able to get on. Good job. Beautiful combo where Rosso corsa and tan can't go any wrong. The most desirable combo. Make sure to put some miles as she has very low miles so her full personality hasn't come out yet. You are still in dating and hanging out stage. Haha. You should marry to your Ferrari as most of us are. Have a good day.

Thank you members for the kind words. Yes, I plan to spend more time on this forum. It has been a great resource so far.

To answer Gary's question, I run a team Financing Commercial Real Estate and work 12-14 hours a day; I have been for the past 6-7 years.

Car related activities are my weekends :]
