Well a dab of black tile silicon and a garden variety brass hose union leads to it falling off.

Why even spend the time doing something so useless.

That's what happens when people try to remove old evap. Lines by just twisting and pulling insted of carefully taking a utility knife and cutting the rubber line across the length of the hose. ( careful not to cut into the nipple). You get to remove the gas tank and have the nipple soldered back on again. Or try the method above. Haha.

I purchased quite a bit of aluminum tubing from Columbia River, You can buy just one foot of material if you like and shipping included would probably cost you $25. You would have enough material to work an arch in it to closely match the original piece, then cut it to length. ( sorry don't have their phone number at the moment ) I would rough the tank up around that opening with 36 grit sandpaper and then try some JB Weld, should work! And a lot easier then pulling that tank.

Oh sure, NOW you tell me! $400 worth or inert gas and aluminum welding later...

Wow, this JBWeld stuff is pretty good.

Bought some yesterday, cleaned around the area of the nipple, and applied some around the brass nipple that was put there by a PO. Let it cure overnight, even though it said 15 minutes to cure.

Woke up this morning and went out to check it, it is rock solid, pulling on it sideways from different directions. That brass nipple ain't coming out.

    Thanks for the heads up.
