The trout is great with just a little smoke in it.
You can do it in one of these stove top smokers, if you don't want to go to trouble of smoking it outdoors.

I am actually not a fan of shrimp, crab, lobster, etc. salad. Not sure why. Maybe because they taste great all by their lonesome?

One I forgot, from my days in Florida, a grouper sandwich. Fried is traditional, I think. Grilled can be done as well. Put your favorite slaw on top of the fish. Maybe a squirt of lemon. Serve on toasted bun or bread. Yummy!

I might attempt Tempura and rice tonight. Dug out the deep fryer and want to do something other then Mozza sticks or deep fried tacos.

Why not combine? I forget where, but I had a fried fish taco, & the fish was tempura coated. IIRC it was topped with some sort of Asian inspired slaw. T

Yes. Before I beat them up.

Never had it with chicken either. Tofu is better, I think.

Haven't had it for a few years since I had it at Chen's in Chengdu. The taste was initially frightening like I remembered. A little panic sets in when your brain tells you that you just made a huge mistake putting that in your mouth. Then, just in time, the numbing sets in. I get a huge endorphin rush from it that lasts a couple of hours.

I had a similar experience at a local Mexican restaurant. I asked for spicy, they gave me Mexican spicy, not gringo spicy. 🔥 🔥 🔥
I drank so much horchata, I thought I was gonna puke. 😬

All done in the smoker - 3 hours at 225 and 1 final hour at 265 - put some ginger and sugar spice on during that final hour which burns in good!

Ginger? Huh. I'd have guessed sugar, but not ginger. Looks tasty, no doubt about that.

Chef salads for dinner - iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, sliced white onions, bell pepper slices. Some almonds for crunch. A little feta cheese for tang. A few Craisins. Boiled egg. White anchovies for protein and omega 3. Yellow miso vinaigrette. Tasty, filling and didn't have to heat up the kitchen too much...T
