Agree. That would be a welcome feature for all the 14 year-old girls that frequent this site.

    Previously discussed, trialled, and rejected.

I hope it doesn't come back.

With a sarcastic attitude like that, it's no wonder 14yr olds would be drawn to this site, such a cheap form of humour.

Still don't get the proof of ownership routine. No one doubts I own my car. A simple MVA check is proof. There is at least one member on this site whose ONLY occupation is to track registered Ferraris. He knows the history of thousands of Ferraris and can vouch for its ownership. Ferrari did the same thing to me. I had to send my registration, divers license (both myself and my wife), bill of sale, and title to them to get an account on their official site when I bought the car. I am very active at my dealer and get invites to reveals and lots of other events which I attend. Put over 400 miles on my F12 in a single day supporting FOW inaugural rally a few weeks ago and had a very nice time speaking with Bud Moeller again. I find it uncomfortable to ask around at the events if anyone has heard of FChat. I stopped asking a while ago. Do you really doubt I own my car?

This one has been beaten to death. I get that it's annoying to some. It was when we set it up, but part of the reason was to get folks here out to meet each other. Three other members here, not owners, need to vouch for you.

Any cars and coffee get together will take care of it.

Head north to the one in West Chester, PA, happens every Saturday. Meet the guys, hang out, get some to vouch for you here, and POOF! all done.

At the C&C, all the Ferrari guys are Fchatters, there are some others as well. IF you want a list, with pics of their cars, that can be done for you. Give you a dozen to look for. Shoot me a PM.

Or wander over to the Mid atlantic forum and post a picture of your car, indicate you're coming to cars and coffee and need some folks to vouch for you. They'll come find YOU.

I posted it so the new admin can see it for himself not to beat anything to death. Thanks for the offer but I have put a couple thousand miles on my car going back and forth to FOW events. Again, simple MVA check and POOF. We spend more time on this site getting to know each other then we ever will at any event. Think about it.

Meeting/knowing people in real life is different than meeting/knowing them electronically. The point of owners forum rigmarole was to get people to meet and form bonds in real life. I'd like to think that it has worked, as I have several friends on Fchat that I know in real life. We get together for stuff like cars and coffee, but also lunch, drives, and other activities. It goes beyond e-life and into real life.

For example: many years ago, I asked about doing a brake job on my GT4, and several Fchatters came over to my house and worked on it with me. Eventually I wrote up a how to on the 308 brake job. Win-win for everyone.

    Well okey dokey.

If you've been to FOW events, you've been surrounded by Fchat members. Too bad you're too shy, or whatever, to say hello to a few of them, ask if they frequent the site, and get them to vouch for you. No one minds, really.

Truth be told, the OF is pretty boring. The best stuff goes on in the Diamond forum, which is of course, by invitation only. :D

Please don't get me wrong. I really enjoy speaking directly to folks like me that I've been introduced to at all the events I attend. I was just making a suggestion on this thread per its title. I'm bad with names and the couple times I tried to talk about Fchat, folks were not members - felt a little wierd. As a note, it take 1.5 hours each way to travel to FOW and I've probable put 2K miles in the last couple years on my F12 just going to all the events. I was just getting a little bored in the usual sites here. Best.

I see you're in Maryland, there are plenty of friendly FChatters in your area - I've met a few of them when I was nearby. It really shouldn't be hard or a chore to meet up with some folks - if it is, you probably wouldn't like the Owners Forum anyway (I gather it's mostly about socials). Also, you would only see the owners forum if you were both subscribed and verified.

If you're bored, just subscribing will reveal all manner of silly stuff in Silver. ;)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I've been having issues uploading photos from my phone. In the past, I think pics were automatically resized by the forum software if they were too big. Never had a problem uploading a pic from my phone. Now, I get an error when I try to upload.

If I click on Choose file, then Take Photo, it will work. However, if I've taken the photo previously, I get the error. I used to not have any problems doing this.

How about being able to create dynamic polls where one is able to change his mind and change his original vote as many times as he/she likes during the length of the poll?

Nothing has changed on the software side, more and more people having this problem because phones are taking larger and larger pictures. when you get the security token error then you need to upload less at once or resize them smaller besides you upload. we're not going to start allowing 10 mb uploads, plus that's a bunch of data you are pushing through your plan.

I could see allowing the option for dynamic poll, but most of the time I think polls are snapshot in time and votes shouldn't be changed.

Ok so the "Like" button is rejected.

What about a "Thanks" button (saw on another forum). imo it says more than just "like". I'm thinking it discerns quality , useful posts (& posters) from ok, ho-hum, not so great or lousy posts. (if this suggestion was already considered well mea-culpa for not reading every post in this thread)
    :)

If something is valuable enough to need a like/thanks then I think people should take the time to type out their appreciation. As for discerning quality, I don't think people need to be told what is quality by popular opinion and are able to ascertain for themselves what is useful to them.

Personally (I don't speak for Rob), I oppose the addition of any such buttons.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I see it as a rating system for both Post-er and Thank-er. One can have 2,000 Posts and few Thanks, versus 500 Posts and many Thanks.
Said my piece, moving on now...

Hmmm, I thought that the software (on F-chat's side) automatically resized the photos. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I seem to remember someone posting that it did.

I didn't have any issues with this before. It started happening to me a couple of weeks ago.

Not a huge deal, as it is easy enough to resize them, it's just that I didn't have to do it before.

yes, but it isn't going to let you upload a huge file and resize it, your job to resize it before upload. Before 2006 or so you had to resize 100% of images yourself.

I've never had to resize a photo. If uploading large files, I just need to do so one at a time and no issue.

Not a fault of Fchat but I wish I could post more than one via iphone and ipad but damn Apple names all photos "image" or image1" (same file name).....
