    Hi all,

What would happen if I removed the anti-evaporative system off my 87 328GTB and plugged the nipples in the tanks and the plenum?

    Regards

Might cause pressure build up in the tanks?

I should add a vent line to one of the fuel tanks then.

    Replicate a euro setup.

    Update:

Well I disconnected the rest of the evap system, a couple of items were already missing from the system.

I sealed with caps the 3 Right hand tank nipples, and created a vent tube to the bottom of the chassis with the left hand tank nipple.

Should I just seal the nipple of the plenum? or can I use that for something else?

    Regards

Needs to be capped off or you have a vacuum leak and therefore unmetered air intake.

I think you need a vent tube from the top of the right hand tank also, tee it into the vent tube on the left side tank. Otherwise you will get pressure buildup in the right hand tank.

Hmm, thinking about it more - with no vent on the right tank, you won't ever get it full of fuel when refueling - the level in the right tank would rise until there was pressure in the sealed tank that would prevent more fuel entering, as the trapped air/vapor volume on the right tank can't go anywhere to be displaced by fuel!

I am certain that the Euro setup has the right side tank vented with the left. I can check my 84 this evening, maybe with a photo or two.

Thank you for your input, if you don't mind checking that would be great! That is the system that I am emulating for the tank venting.

    Will do!

    Many thanks guys,,,
